About the Project:

Are you ready to lead a transformative initiative aimed at improving nutrition outcomes for the most vulnerable populations in Bangladesh? As part of our mission to support Bangladesh on its Journey to Self-Reliance, the Community Nutrition Activity focuses on enhancing the nutrition of pregnant and lactating women and children under five through a targeted community-health system strengthening approach.

Your Role

As the Chief of Party, you’ll be the visionary leader with a high expertise and knowledge in Health systems and how they work, driving this groundbreaking project. You’ll oversee the implementation of technical requirements, deliver strategic guidance, and ensure that our programs make a significant impact on reducing poverty and social injustice.

What You’ll Do

Project Leadership:

  • Lead the project with a clear vision, ensuring all technical requirements and deliverables are met.
  • Effectively lead a team of 40+ technical experts and partners to effectively implement and deliver desired outcomes.
  • Design and manage annual project cycles in line with USAID’s planning.
  • Develop, track, and adapt project work plans with stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of learning and adaptation across partnerships and project teams.
  • Translate project goals into actionable strategies and plans.
  • Monitor implementation progress, promoting high-quality work and addressing risks.
  • Prepare and oversee project activity reports, M&E reports, and other deliverables.

Partnership, Representation, and Engagement:

  • Build and nurture partnerships with international, national, and community-level stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with USAID, project partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the project at high-level meetings, conferences, and forums.

Donor and CARE Compliance:

  • Ensure financial management aligns with USAID and CARE policies.
  • Implement program activities on schedule and within budget.
  • Apply CARE’s PSHEA and Safety & Security policies across all operations.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate project reports and deliverables.
  • Manage the project’s operational, financial, and administrative priorities.
  • Create or adapt management systems consistent with CARE’s procedures and project needs.

People and Culture Management:

  • Develop, supervise, and manage a diverse team of 40+ experts and program staff.
  • Motivate teams by establishing a strong team dynamic, open communication, and leading by example.
  • Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all operations and program implementation.
  • Guide team members to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
  • Mentor senior staff, delegate responsibilities, and clearly communicate performance expectations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Master’s or advanced degree in public health or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of senior-level management experience on donor-funded programs, with must have experience managing USAID-funded projects within the Asia region.
  • Expertise: Experience in community health systems, maternal and child health, nutrition, reproductive health, or social and behavior change.
  • Skills: Proven leadership in designing, managing, and evaluating similar-sized international programs (25-50 million). Strong strategic planning, management, supervision, budgeting, and coordination skills.
  • Relationships: Ability to build and maintain relationships with governments, donors, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to gender equity, diversity, inclusion, and PSEAH.
  • Experience: Knowledge of South Asia/Bangladesh context is strongly preferred.
  • Travel: Ability to travel within Bangladesh as required.
  • Language: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
