Chemonics seeks a Distribution Planning Manager for the anticipated USAID-funded Malaria Vector Control Activity (MVCA). This activity seeks to identify and implement proven, evidence-based vector control approaches in Tanzania, in support of reducing the overall malaria burden and moving Tanzania closer to malaria elimination.
The Distribution Planning Manager will be responsible for the management of distribution activities for the MVCA project in Tanzania.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the receipt, storage and distribution of ITNs (Insecticide-treated Nets) and ensure distribution is done in accordance with specified plans, and best practices.
- Liaise between NMCP, ZAMEP, MOH distribution vendors, and project stakeholders for distribution activities
- Coordinate with the project distribution services providers, ensuring proper documentation and industry best practices are utilized for transporting ITNs and confirming receipt at destination.
- Provide technical assistance and logistical support for supervision of the distribution of ITNs, both at regional and community level. Create and maintain project databases.
- Participate in planning, monitoring and evaluation activities as requested by the project, USAID and counterparts.
- Develop Distribution Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support the Deputy Chief of Party, Technical in managing reception of documentation and deliverables for subcontracting of distribution services. Prepare and submit documentation for payment. Monitor contracted third-party distribution service providers’ performance against set key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support and provide technical assistance for process improvements and innovations.
- Facilitate transfer of skills and knowledge to other staff through mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all office rules and procedures as set forth in the field office policy manual.
- Supervising the distribution team to support the achievement of the overall project goals as required to ensure project performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Health.
- At least 5+ years of relevant work experience coordinating distribution in a donor-funded supply chain project.
- Experience working on a USAID or donor-funded project.
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to work as a part of a team but managing of own time.
- Proven ability to function effectively as part of a multicultural team.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and proven diplomatic and negotiation skills.
- Proven experience working with multi-sector teams and the ability to coordinate multiple staff with varying levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated capacity to work closely with, understand, and support local partners.
- Possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Flexible, adaptable and ability to multitask.
- Ability to manage time effectively to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
- Fluency in English required and Swahili is desirable.
