General Description of the Programme:
SENED is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization licensed and registered in Türkiye with the number 27-15-175. SENED Organization was established shortly after the Syrian Nakba and in response to the suffering of millions of Syrian refugees in Turkey as well as internally displaced people in Syria, to alleviate suffering, achieving justice, equality, and freedom, strengthening the role of civil society, and supporting and developing the local community. SENED works in the humanitarian work sectors to support, empower, and educate the community through several programs, takes exceptional care of people with disabilities and their families and defends their issues.
SENED Association emphasizes creating safe, accessible, and participation-encouraging living conditions for individuals’ emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development by focusing on people with disabilities. Beyond the medical perspective on disability, it tries to find solutions to the problems faced by disabled people with a holistic perspective by considering the disabled people, their families, and the society they live in, focusing on the conditions they experience. SENED Association aims to create a safe and supportive environment and space by conducting family-oriented activities to help disabled individuals and their families become stronger, discover their potential and stand by with their children. By collecting data on refugee-disabled people and identifying problems and needs, SENED strives to ensure harmony between disabled refugees and local people with a voluntary, professional team and a community-based approach. All activities, education, research, advocacy, etc., are carried out on platforms created by local and disabled refugee people.
Job purpose:
The Life Skills Facilitator will be responsible for delivering life and soft skills training to youth participants. The ideal candidates will be passionate about empowering young people, particularly those from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds. This role involves facilitating engaging and interactive sessions that promote personal development, social cohesion, and leadership skills.
Duties, objectives and competencies:
· Plan, organize, and facilitate non-formal education, life and soft skills training sessions for youth aged 14 to 29.
· Develop and adapt training materials to meet the needs of diverse participants.
· Use interactive and participatory methods to engage youth in learning
· Collaborate with the project team to design and refine life skills curricula.
· Identify and incorporate best practices and innovative approaches in training delivery.
· Collect and analyze feedback from participants to continuously improve program quality
· Provide individualized support and mentorship to youth participants.
· Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages open communication and mutual respect.
· Identify and address any challenges or barriers to participation
· Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and participant progress.
· Prepare and submit regular reports on training activities and outcomes.
· Assist in evaluating the impact of the life skills program
· Work closely with other facilitators, social workers, and project staff to ensure a coordinated approach.
· Establish and maintain relationships with local partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
· Represent the organization at community events and meetings as needed
· Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Essential
· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
· Fluency in Arabic or Turkish required.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience in humanitarian work and principles.
Requirements (desired)
· Experience in facilitating training or educational programs for youth
· Fluency in Turkish and Arabic together.
· Fluency in English
· Experience for one year or more in the same field
· Proficiency in current office software applications and KoBo
· Bachelor’s degree certificate
