Background
SoCha is seeking two Qualitative Data Assistants in Myanmar who will collect data from 35 sites and enter it in the prescribed formats. The Qualitative Data Assistant will be responsible for gathering data which will be followed by the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) analyst further processing the data. This role is critical to ensuring that the data collected is accurate, comprehensive, and insightful, contributing to the overall success of our project.
Scope of Work
Responsibilities will include:
- Work under the supervision of the Senior M&E Analyst.
- Receive raw data from the Senior M&E Analyst for downloading and restructuring. This data includes information from Key Informant Interviews (KII), Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and short stories, all written in English.
- Listen to the recorded KII and FGD sessions and note any information missing from the Word documents.
- Compile the downloaded data and enter it in the prescribed formats.
- Assist in coding and analyzing qualitative data using relevant software.
- Use audio/video recording equipment where necessary to ensure accurate data capture.
- Maintain organized records of all data collected, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Manage workload based on data availability, with schedules being planned collaboratively with the Senior M&E Analyst.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., English major, development studies, or a degree related to humanitarian work, monitoring, and evaluation).
- A minimum of three (3) or more years of experience in collecting data for international donor-funded projects.
- Understanding of qualitative analysis tools.
- Proven experience in qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software (e.g. NVivo, etc.).
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high data quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in notetaking and assisting with qualitative research projects.

Work remotely or from the office in Yangon, Myanmar.
