General Description of the Programme:
SENED is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization licensed and registered in Türkiye with the number 27-15-175. SENED Organization was established shortly after the Syrian Nakba and in response to the suffering of millions of Syrian refugees in Turkey as well as internally displaced people in Syria, to alleviate suffering, achieving justice, equality, and freedom, strengthening the role of civil society, and supporting and developing the local community. SENED works in the humanitarian work sectors to support, empower, and educate the community through several programs, takes exceptional care of people with disabilities and their families and defends their issues.
SENED Association emphasizes creating safe, accessible, and participation-encouraging living conditions for individuals’ emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development by focusing on people with disabilities. Beyond the medical perspective on disability, it tries to find solutions to the problems faced by disabled people with a holistic perspective by considering the disabled people, their families, and the society they live in, focusing on the conditions they experience. SENED Association aims to create a safe and supportive environment and space by conducting family-oriented activities to help disabled individuals and their families become stronger, discover their potential and stand by with their children. By collecting data on refugee-disabled people and identifying problems and needs, SENED strives to ensure harmony between disabled refugees and local people with a voluntary, professional team and a community-based approach. All activities, education, research, advocacy, etc., are carried out on platforms created by local and disabled refugee people.
Job purpose:
Sr. Protection Officer is responsible to provide SRH (sexual and reproductive health counselling services, delivering RH commodities to the beneficiaries, refer cases to internal and external services, follow-up cases and report to Sr Project Officer.
Duties, objectives, and competencies:
· Provide essential information on SRH to refugee community members in the community center and field, specific focus on women and girls with disabilities from both refugee and host communities to address their heightened vulnerability and ensure their protection by empowering them with information and access to essential SRH services.
· Responsible for registration of the beneficiaries for counselling, provision of the service, guidance and follow-up after the service and delivering RH commodities.
· Provide evaluation of the beneficiary, pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and post-pregnancy evaluations, examinations and tests, which play a key role in minimizing maternal and infant mortality.
· If the beneficiary has requested services related to pregnancy planning, provide counselling on methods.
· Identify protection risks and supports the beneficiary in directing them to other service providers and follow up.
· Make sure that the beneficiary understands the service provided correctly and arranges the next visit.
· Conduct awareness sessions on relevant issues for beneficiaries and target groups.
· Ensure the continuity of missing materials required for the regular and continuous provision of sexual and reproductive health counselling sessions.
· Make sure that the beneficiary’s data entry is done in accordance with the standards.
· Establish and maintain good relations with key stakeholders in the implementation area.
· Supporting the service mapping and keeping service map updated
· Support and promote the standards outlined in the Code of Conduct and associated policies to project team.
· Any other job-related tasks as assigned by supervisor/line manager
Requirements: Essential
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in provision of SRH services.
· Advanced in Turkish or Arabic.
· Intermediate computer skills, especially on MS Office programs
Requirements (desired)
· Bachelor’s degree in midwifery or nursing.
· Having an IUD Consulting and application certificate
· Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in provision of SRH services
· Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in NGOs/INGOs.
· Intermediate in English
· Advanced in both Turkish and Arabic
Technical Competencies:
· Knowledge in activity planning
· Knowledge in report writing.
· Knowledge in Excel & Word
· Basic knowledge in budget management
