Personality Test
This is one of the most common categories of tests for several selection processes. It requires candidates to respond to some inquiries designed to measure personality traits or characteristics.
This type of test can be useful to identify personality disorders and better predict the future behavior of a specific person by evaluating their thoughts, emotions, and attitudes.
An efficient Personality Test might be able to offer a good overview of an individual’s personality, as well as their strengths and weaknesses.
The ADB Personality Test has around 129 questions with no time limit. Therefore, you should carefully respond to the questions taking all the time you need, and try to be completely honest regarding your answers.
Generally, in the first round of the ADB Young Professionals Program selection process, you must fill out an online application form and send documents (Curriculum Vitae/Resume, Cover Letter, etc.). These documents are decisive for your success in this competitive selection process! Therefore, it is of fundamental importance that they are carefully reviewed. Situational Judgement Test
The Situational Judgement is a type of test which aims to evaluate the candidate´s decision-making capabilities and other competencies, such as Leadership, Teamwork, Planning, and Organizing, among others.
Common in the US and Europe, this test usually presents work-related situations and asks the individual to judge what is the best alternative to deal with a given problem.
Since STJ tests have a generalist nature, it’s not required to possess a high level of technical knowledge in order to answer the questions. In this sense, the queries may be applied to individuals from different professional and academic backgrounds.
For the ADB Situational Judgement Test, candidates will have approximately 15 questions to be answered in a maximum of 30 minutes. Each one presents a problem statement that has about 10-12 sentences.
There will be 5 options in total, which you will have to mark the most effective and the least effective response. If possible, try to complete one question in under two minutes.
In this sense, you should be able to read and understand the problem as fast as you can, and then, choose the most appropriate answers. The most important tip is: don’t waste too much time on one question!
Numeric Test
It is worth mentioning that Numeric Tests may require that the candidate has mastered certain basic mathematical skills, including percentage calculations, geometric figures, the rule of three, and units of measure.
The questions are generally not difficult, but you may be short in time to answer all of them. Therefore, it’s important to plan your time carefully!
See the following examples:
- Numeric problems:
a) 15 cups cost $720. How much would 3 cups cost?

Abstract Reasoning Test
Abstract Reasoning Tests are usually divided into two types: inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning.
