1st PHASE OF THE WRITTEN EXAM TAKEN – October 13, 2023
Shortlisted candidates have taken the first test of the UN YPP Written Exam stage. Now candidates have to start preparing for the next test, which is the Specialized Paper Part II, which is composed of constructed response (open-ended) questions and lasts approximately 2 – 2.5 hours. These questions can be viewed in either English or French. Certain questions must be answered in English or French, and certain questions can be answered in any one of the UN’s six official languages. Each question will have a suggested response word limit. There’s no official date out for this second test yet.

UN YPP 2023-24 NEWS: EXAM AREAS AND PARTICIPATING MEMBER STATES ANNOUNCED! – March 27, 2023
The UN YPP team has just released the list of participating member countries and Exam Areas for the next edition of the UN YPP, which is expected to open for applications from late April to June. These are the Exam areas for the new edition:

- Information Systems & Technology

Remember: you can only apply for the UN YPP exams under one nationality. If you have more than one, deciding which one to use may benefit you in the process. For instance, if you take into consideration which country (of the ones you are a national) is under-represented in the UN Secretariat or the number of nationals applying for the program, you could improve your chances of qualifying in the exam.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2022-2023 UN YPP [RELEVANT TO THOSE CURRENTLY TAKING THE WRITTEN EXAM]:
THE DATE FOR THE 1st PHASE OF THE WRITTEN EXAM IS OUT! – February 1, 2023
The UN YPP team has released the timeline for the 1st phase of the Written Exam, which is comprised of the General Paper and the Specialized Paper Part I: the test will tentatively take place in mid-March 2023. In case the exam does take place in March, the YPP team will send a new e-mail soon to convoked candidates informing the exact date and additional information.
