What is the structure of the UN YPP?

ELIGIBILITY

Confirm your eligibility, review the Job Opening for your exam area and prepare your application through UN’s platform Inspira

WRITTEN EXAMINATION

Candidates successful in the application stage are convoked to the first examination. You’ll have time to study and then, after taking the first examination, successful candidates are convoked to the second examination.

INTERVIEWS

Candidates successful in the exams will be invited to a competency-based video-conference interview. Those successful in this stage will be placed on a roster and those selected from the roster will be offered a two-year fixed term contract at the start of their professional career with the UN.

Want to know if you are eligible for the UN YPP?

The basic requirements are:
- Be 32 years old or younger
- Fluency in English OR French
- As a minimum, you must hold a first-level university degree (minimum of three years) relevant for the exam area you are applying for

Applications for the 2024-2025 UN YPP are open until September 28 across 3 exam areas:
- Political Affairs & Human Rights;
- Human Resources & Administration;
- Finance & Budget.
