About the course
In this hands-on self-paced course, you will develop foundational skills in data collection and management. Upon completion, you’ll receive an official KoboToolbox Essentials certificate.
The KoboToolbox Essentials Course is designed by experienced trainers and educators who know how to help learners succeed. KoboToolbox’s Knowledge Transfer Specialist, Alexander Mtembenuzeni, will lead you through the course.
What will the training course cover?
By the end of the training course, you will be able to:
- Create and design forms using KoboToolbox’s intuitive interface
- Perform essential functions using Formbuilder, KoboCollect, and XLSForms
- Test and deploy forms for data collection
- Use KoboToolbox’s advanced features to customize forms, including skip logic and validation criteria, cascading selects, calculations, and translations
- Manage and analyze data by working with reports, viewing and downloading data, and automating workflows
- Create visualizations to communicate insights and findings
- Identify how KoboToolbox can be used by different organizations to collect data
When is the training course?
The training course is entirely online and self-paced, so you can complete it on your own schedule, get real-time results on learning assessments, and receive feedback on your progress.
Who should attend this training?
This course is perfect for anyone new to using KoboToolbox for developing forms, deploying forms, and collecting data. It is also useful for those who need to refresh their knowledge of using KoboToolbox effectively. There are no prerequisites.
By taking the KoboToolbox Essentials Course, you will get an introduction to KoboToolbox and develop foundational skills in data collection and management.
How is the training organized?
The course contains 11 learning modules with 3 hours of video instruction. Each learning module includes videos, quizzes, and hands-on exercises to help you practice and apply what you learn.
Each video is accompanied by written key points and a list of key terms, and each module includes a summary to reinforce important concepts.
Please note that the course is provided in English (subtitles are included for each video). We are currently in the process of translating the subtitles into more languages and appreciate your patience.
