In a world marked by complex, interconnected crises and the pressing urgency for multilateral cooperation, the role of the United Nations(UN) in pre-emptively addressing global threats has become increasingly pivotal. This session will unpack how the UN, through revitalized multilateralism, aims to proactively prevent conflicts and sustain peace by enhancing trust, solidarity, and cooperation among nations.

Drawing upon the United Nations Peace and Security framework, the principles of the New Agenda for Peace and the tenets of the Pact for the Future, we will explore how these transformations are integral not only to peace but to the broader goals of sustainable development and human rights.

This webinar aims to delineate the pathways through which the United Nations can adapt to the shifting geopolitical landscapes, manage emerging threats, and ultimately forge a future where peace efforts are integrated, strategic, and driven by the imperative of prevention.

Join us to discuss the new paradigms shaping the future of global peace and security under the UN.

Moderation: Ms. Svenja Korth, Head, Peace and Security Hub, UNSSC
