The Kansas Office for Refugees (KSOR) was established by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) as the private administrator of the Kansas Refugee Program in 2016 when the State of Kansas opted out of the federal U.S. Refugee Program. Serving as the Replacement Designee for the State of Kansas, KSOR administers funding and programming through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). KSOR helps to shape the state and local contexts for resettlement and integration, building structures and systems that ensure both refugees and receiving communities are supported.

The Health Program Data Specialist is responsible for various programmatic and administrative functions to ensure Medical Screening (MS), Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA), and health-related local and state data collection and coordination activities move forward as effectively and efficiently as possible. This position reports to the Health Program Coordinator.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Health Program Coordinator with Medical Screening (MS) data collection and invoice process management using ClientTrack and other KSOR database applications.
  • Maintain the ClientTrack database to coordinate statewide programs, including assisting with system configuration, testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide effective data management and oversight of reporting.
  • Complete timely batch uploads of programmatic data to ClientTrack.
  • Coordinate with KSOR’s program teams to identify needs for technical assistance in reporting and tracking data; provide support and technical assistance through virtual and in-person meetings in utilizing ClientTrack to meet program reporting and data tracking requirements.
  • Provide data visualization resources to support KSOR’s outreach efforts.
  • Assist with special projects, including research and analysis of refugee health resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Administration, or health field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a clinical or public health office setting is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with underserved populations is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and cultivate community relationships to support client-focused solutions.
  • Proven ability to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to effectively work with various community partners through telephone, email, virtual meetings, and other correspondence.
  • Computer Skills: Solid computer skills with MS Office Suite (Work, Excel, etc.) and email/internet software are required.

Working Environment:

  • This position is based in the KSOR office in Wichita, Kansas. Standard work environment. Some local and statewide travel is expected for meetings and events. Currently observing remote working operations, with one day per week in the office and one day a month for in-person all staff meetings required. Remote work schedules are revised periodically.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
