As we navigate an increasingly complex, dynamic, and uncertain world, understanding how to think about and plan for the future becomes essential. Many governments and organisations are turning to future studies and foresight approaches to develop their strategy and inform policy and governance decisions. The relevance of strategic foresight cannot be underestimated. In a rapidly evolving world, the ability to anticipate and respond effectively to change helps mitigate risk and provides opportunities for innovation. This short course dives into the rich discipline of future studies and focuses on key methodologies and practices involved in strategic foresight.
This programme will equip participants with a strategic foresight toolbox and adopt an applied learning approach with a second day dedicated to conducting a foresight exercise leading to scenario-building. We will explore the future of multilateralism in the context of the “Summit of the Future” announced by the UN Secretary-General.
