WHO WE ARE

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

THE PURPOSE

Under the supervision of the WatHab Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant 2 provides complex secretarial and/or administrative support to the Water and Habitat department by performing a wide variety of complex administrative, analytical and research duties.

YOUR ROLE

  • Consolidates, review and publish the various departmental reports and documentation. Ensure that WatHab reports are aligned with the ICRC’s institutional reporting requirements.
  • Reviews PAM Project data and generate QSR data for NG WatHab Operations.
  • Collects and review data from relevant databases to support coordinator with preparation of the institutional report.
  • Provides support on WatHab Facts and figures when requested and assists Coordination and actively contributes to the PfR exercises
  • Provides training and support to WatHab users of the “Project and Activity Management” (PAM) tool and keeps it update.
  • Works with site admin assistants to ensure the integration of WatHab PAM with other institutional systems and tools such as Team space and ensure quality of project data in PAM.
  • Consolidates and distributes WatHab Cash forecasts in collaboration with sites and WatHab coordination.
  • Prepares and attends Collaborative Demand Planning (CDP) monthly meetings and follows up with Logistics and Administration on contracts and Supply requests (SR).
  • Follows and collects MoU signatures and submits the finalized file to the Finance Manager.
  • Supports WatHab Coordination with the monitoring of the WatHab budget, in close coordination with the project Managers.
  • Manages archives WatHab projects files, pictures, footage and meta data.
  • Assist in organizing seminars, training sessions and workshops, liaise with internal and external contacts and service providers related to their work and follow up on the expenses.

YOUR PROFILE: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree or equivalent higher education in Administration; Social Sciences; Library and Information Science / Management.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar function.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written), and other languages (Hausa) an asset.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and IBM Lotus Motes
  • Monitoring & Evaluation professional experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience managing institutional statistics is an asset.
  • Applicant must have a valid working permit to work in Nigeria.
