POSITION SUMMARY:
HIAS seeks a Budget & Fiscal Compliance Coordinator, U.S. to provide support to the Budget & Fiscal Compliance (BFC) team on operation, coordination and financial monitoring and tracking. They will be responsible for operation functions related to Budget & Fiscal Compliance, and this is a hands-on position that will work under the guidance and supervision of the Assistant Director, Budget & Fiscal Compliance, U.S.
Note, the salary range for this position is $55,000.00-60,000.00, and we are hiring 2 vacancies for this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with managing reporting, compliance, and recognition of federal grants for assigned portfolio.
- Assists in the compilation and drafting of the annual operating budget.
- Assists with preparation of monthly budget-to-actual analysis, conducting quarterly forecast reviews with program managers.
- Completes and uploads financial reports into various federal reporting platforms.
- Maintains strong working relationships with relevant HIAS teams (Resettlement & Integration, Finance & Accounting, etc.).
- Reviews and approves payment invoices via NetSuite for affiliates, consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
- Helps prepare financial reports for donors and provides input on narrative reporting.
- Reviews project expenses and ensures all expenses are in line with HIAS and donor policies.
- Reviews and tracks payments for virtually resettled clients.
- Assists with proposal development and provides support for other ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Manages filing systems (hard copy and electronic) to ensure records are in compliance with HIAS policies and donor requirements.
- Assists with preparation and coordination of the annual audit process.
- Actively participates in the creation and preparation of U.S. affiliate and HQ finance training sessions and tools.
- Assists with fiscal monitoring of U.S. affiliates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, International Affairs, or a related field required.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience required.
- Familiarity with federal government rules and regulations.
- Experience with U.S. government-funded programs and/or in an organization focused on international development is preferred.
- Experience working with a USAID implementing partner preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and database management.
- Highly organized with good time management skills, ability to set priorities and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to travel domestically up to 10-15% of the time.
- Travel, to include travel to insecure operating environments, may be required.
