NetHope is seeking an engaging, experienced, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic Business Analyst to support the NetHope CDN’s research, information management, and services. The position will report into the Deputy Director, NetHope’s Center for the Digital Nonprofit.
The Business Analyst will work with the NetHope CDN leadership, NetHope program and senior leadership, and others in the NetHope ecosystem to lead research and analysis by way of data collection, analysis, meetings, interviews, and existing information in various formats. The Business Analyst will also regularly maintain and enhance the NetHope CDN’s core data structure and database and provide information from that source as needed. Through the research and data analysis, the Business Analyst will provide relevant insights for NetHope’s Members and the wider NetHope community, identify opportunities for improved collaboration for impact, and support NetHope’s strategy, programs, Member engagement, external relations and data management.
Specific responsibilities include:
Research
- Understand the needs of NetHope Members and their ecosystem of local organizations and implementers; technology partners; and other stakeholders, to target research to their overlapping interests in order to generate meaningful impact.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to research, analyze, report and present collective findings, patterns and insights to internal and external audiences through meetings, webinars and learning sessions.
- Document current and future use cases of technology across the nonprofit value chain
- Publish reports and blogs related to research
- Use research and data to advise and assist team members with program ideation
Information Management
- Perform qualitative/quantitative research on the NetHope ecosystem, maintain and when needed update the data framework to organize data
- Follow defined processes to regularly update and maintain data
- Maintain and when needed update or extend published research products
- Support NetHope’s strategy operationalization and programs by responding to information requests from across NetHope for relevant information from the CDN database
NetHope CDN Services and Tools
- Manage NetHope’s assessments such as the Digital Nonprofit Ability and the Digital Nonprofit Skills, frameworks such as the IDEA Journey™, and advise Members in their use
- Identify and explore opportunities for service and operational improvements
Facilitation
- Lead, facilitate, prepare content, and participate in the Emerging Technology/AI Working Group.
- Develop and lead webinars and similar events with NetHope Members and the CDN team
- Engage Members, partners, and other stakeholders by providing timely and suitable information, and by ideating with them how they can engage with the CDN
- Support the Chief Innovation Officer and Deputy Director of the CDN with content for attendance at conferences (including the NetHope Summit), events, and donor meetings

- Multilingual verbal and written communication skills in French, Spanish, or one of the major African languages a plus
Education and Experience
- Tertiary education or demonstrated equivalent work experience required
- At least two years related practice required which could be analyzing digital transformation or analyzing nonprofit trends, or both
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Slack, Box, Asana, Salesforce or similar tools is a plus
- NetHope Member experience highly valued, other NGO experience a plus
Reporting and Working Conditions:
- This position is a full-time position that reports to the Deputy Director, NetHope’s Center for the Digital Nonprofit
- NetHope is a virtual organization, so our team, our Members, and our Partners are located around the world. Due to the global nature of the organization, meetings may thus be required at any time of the day to meet with our stakeholders in varying time zones. To meet these needs, NetHope embraces flexible schedules for team members, and we work with each other to be located globally, but still maintain a reasonable work time balance
