Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for the Business Development & Grants Coordinator Position,to be based at our Erbil office Iraq.
Note: The position is open to national and international candidates.
Main Job Purpose:
The Business Development and Grants Coordinator will play an integral role in ensuring global communication and coordination of the institutional funding portfolio of Iraq, and the development of the portfolio in North East Syria. The BDGC will work in close collaboration with the programmes team in Iraq, and the HQ Institutional Funding Unit. The BDGC is responsible for supporting the Programmes Manager, Country Director, Head of Institutional Funding and Institutional Funding and Strategic Partnerships Consultant to grow and manage the portfolio by networking with institutional donors, scoping opportunities for funding, coordinating the development of proposals for a range of donors, collating information from across the institutional funding portfolio and presenting it in different formats for different uses, managing all aspects of ongoing grants, and ensuring the IF unit has accurate paperwork and documentation for all institutionally funded projects.
Accountabilities:
Networking and Visibility (30%)
- Map donors and develop donor/stakeholder engagement strategy for Iraq and NE Syria
- Network with donors and increase HA’s visibility and reputation in Iraq and NE Syria
- Develop stakeholder engagement plans and liaise with partners
- Secure funding opportunities through networking with donors
- Secure consortium opportunities through networking with partners
Pipeline and Proposal Development (30%)
- Research and compile opportunities for funding for Iraq and NE Syria
- Follow SOPs and apply them to all institutional bids
- Lead on coordination of bids, working with relevant teams in country and HQ to develop high quality funding proposals
- Lead on the provision of administrative information in funding proposals
- Provide backfill support on proposal writing
- Ensure pipeline dashboards are kept up to date
- Support the wider programmes team to develop internal concept notes that align with the Iraq country office portfolio and support the development of the institutionally funded portfolio, and follow up on the concept notes to ensure funding is secured
Grants Management (25%)
- Work closely with country office and HQ teams such as finance, programmes, desk and other teams as necessary to ensure institutional projects are implemented to the highest standards, and in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Coordinate donor reporting requirements and work with programmes team to produce high quality narrative and financial reports within contractual deadlines
- Review and sign off on donor reports and submit to donors
Knowledge Management (15%)
- Ensure all relevant documentation is in shared project files and concurs with grant management dashboards
- Develop sectoral capacity statements
- Work closely with MEAL and comms teams to develop other resources that demonstrate impact
- Develop and update donor profiles
- Produce reports for internal and external audiences

Requirements:
Education
Masters in International Development or any other relevant field
Minimum three years of experience working in the development sector
Experience
Minimum three years of experience working in the development sector
Computer Skills
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office Suite
Languages
Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in Arabic
