USAID Mali Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Platform
Social Impact, Inc. (SI) is a global development management consulting firm. Project Objective
On November 10, 2022, USAID/Mali awarded the five-year Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Platform contract to SI. The purpose of the MEL Platform is to provide technical and advisory services to design and carry out various monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities for USAID/Mali. This contract has three major components: 1) USAID/Mali monitoring support through a Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) mechanism; 2) Evaluation Services and Surveys; and 3) Collaborating, Learning, and Adaptive Management and Communication Services.
Position Description
Social Impact is collecting CVs for a pool of copyeditors to support copyediting and formatting on a variety of deliverables for ongoing activities under the Mali MEL Platform following USAID ADS 501, Writing Guidelines and Styles Guides, and section 508 Compliance. Topics covered range across sectors, including education, democracy and governance, health, economic growth, environment, and others.
Responsibilities
- Copyedit documents including concept notes and proposals, design reports, component reports, ad-hoc presentations, etc.
- Format documents ensuring consistency with client-specific branding, including ADS 501 Writing Guidelines and Styles Guides, and section 508.
- Other junior to mid-level support services in technical writings as requested by the project team.
Qualifications
- Native proficiency in English.
- Master’s degree in English, with 3+ additional years of experience using and practicing United States American English style.
- Minimum 3 years of experience writing and/or editing reports in the field of international development.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel tables formatting and their equivalents under Google.doc.
- Proven experience with editing ADS 501 Styles Guides and 508 compliant deliverables.
- Basic understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation and Research in the context of development.
- Working proficiency in French preferred.
- Ability to take direction from remote team, promptly adapt and remain flexible with timelines and requirements.
**Due to the high volume of requests with quick turnaround times, preference will be given to copyeditors who reside in a time zone ahead of EDT, preferably GMT and further eastwards**
