Aim of the position:
Support to the management of multisectoral emergency projects in the CP technical component
Main tasks and responsibilities
• Facilitate the processes that will ensure a well-coordinated, strategic, adequate, coherent, and effective response by participants in the AoR that is accountable to those who are affected by the emergency. In their effort to provide an efficient and effective response to the humanitarian crisis,
• Build relationships with stakeholders, for securing the overall coordination of sectoral responses and for ensuring inter-sectoral collaboration at the sub-national level and for ensuring adequate coordination with the national level.
• Drafting, revision and updating of technical documents such as: Training Modules, ToR, Financing Proposals, Position Papers.
• Ensure that lessons of child centred interventions are regularly documented and communicated to not only inform project planning and implementation but also enhance better understanding amongst other actors including donors
• Carry out needs assessment and analysis related to protection or Child Protection in coordination with the MEAL department;
• Responsible for the dissemination, training and implementation of AVSI Accountability to affected populations, Child Safeguarding and PSEAH policies
• Strengthen national and local capacity
• Management and coordination of child protection activities with respect to the schedule defined by the chronogram;
• Together with the project team, planning and development of activities in the field
• Preparation of interim and final, narrative and accounting reports of the project to the donor and competent authorities
Essential Requirements
Education:
• Qualification: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.
Work experience:
• Solid knowledge of the Child Protection sector with proven experience in the field of at least 7 years of which at least 4 in CP
• Experience in the implementation of projects and activities on MHPSS;
Language proficiency:
• Knowledge of foreign languages: excellent knowledge of the English language; knowledge of Portuguese preferable;
Required skills and experiences
• Good knowledge of Minimum Humanitarian Standards (SPHERE) and Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS)
