NetHope is seeking an engaging, experienced, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic Project Coordinator to support the development and implementation of NetHope’s Climate Intersections Initiative program. The position will report into the Climate Intersections Lead. The Project Coordinator will have a key role in convening NGO Members and partners, facilitating meetings, and providing a great customer experience to internal and external stakeholders.

The Project Coordinator must be adept at working in an entirely virtual workspace in a team environment while building and bridging communications. They need to be successful in maintaining processes and workflows. They will support the Climate Intersection program and related activities to ensure that all workplans and deliverables are efficiently completed, at a high standard of quality, and in full compliance with NetHope and donor policies. They will possess excellent organizational skills and have a strong eye for detail. The Project Coordinator provides a layer of consistency and professional cohesion throughout NetHope’s activities.

Specific responsibilities include:

Project Coordination

  • Provide overall support for the effective development and implementation of the Climate Intersections activities and programs.
  • Help with the setup, curation, and maintenance of project and project-tracking information in relevant systems, including tracking the progress, plans, activities, deliverables, and quality of work performed.
  • Coordinate in-person and virtual events, workshops, and trainings, including arranging meetings, identifying workshop/training participants, preparing, and sending invitations, arranging venues, assisting with language translation, arranging travel, and other logistics.
  • Assist in managing contracts and subawards process, including drafting agreements, onboarding consultants and sub-awardees, tracking billed time against project budget, reviewing, and processing invoices, tracking contract duration, and initiating the contract renewal process as needed.
  • Assist the team in preparing activity reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and financial reports.
  • Work with the program Lead to engage stakeholders to enthuse them about the project, follow leads, and assist with coalition building and fundraising and training activities.
  • Help manage relationships with stakeholders, including proactively identifying and driving resolution of any issues and opportunities.
  • Support the team on additional assigned projects/tasks.

Program Development and Support

  • Use initiative and creativity to help the team identify, design, and implement activities in line with the Climate Intersections program goals.
  • Work with project Lead to organize and create stakeholder meetings, communication assets, trainings, and other events, and assist with determination of project requirements and activities.
  • Connect with external partners as needed to support the work of the program team.
  • Assist the Lead, Climate Intersections in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFPs, tenders, budgets, cash flows, and deliverable schedules.
  • Work with the communications team to commission blogs, social media, and other creative assets for the climate program. to and from relevant stakeholders, to encourage and enthuse participants and encourage funding for the Climate Intersections program.

Facilitation

  • Lead, facilitate, prepare content, and participate in the climate intersections Working Groups.
  • Develop and lead webinars and similar events with NetHope Members and the team.
  • Engage stakeholders, service providers and customers to the project by providing timely and suitable information, and by ideating with them on how they can contribute and engage with the program.
  • Support the program Lead, Climate Intersections for all aspects of preparation for attendance at climate conference/events.
  • Prepare content for the Annual NetHope Summit and facilitate Climate Intersections sessions with program Lead, NetHope Members, Partners, and external participants.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of or technical familiarity with climate adaptation and resilience in developing country contexts
  • Exceptional communication/facilitation–written and verbal
  • Expertise in creating engaging presentations for different stakeholders both in-person and virtually
  • Excellent organizational skills, eye for detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Slack, Box, Asana, Salesforce are a plus. Training will be provided as needed, but a high level of literacy in similar tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in project management, ability to work with implementation plans and MEAL frameworks to deliver scheduled activities on time, according to plan and budget
  • Ability to use systems to track and report key milestones for projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies, data and information management, cybersecurity, and/or digital skills a plus
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal skills; multilingual a plus

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years project coordination or equivalent experience in a global non-profit (Humanitarian or Conservation) or technology corporation
  • Prior experience in social impact programs, humanitarian development programs, non-profit organizations a plus
  • Experience living and working in developing countries a plus.
  • Experience with fundraising and grant development a plus
  • Experience supporting climate adaptation and resilience projects in the context of a corporate or non-profit organization.
  • Prior experience working on programs or projects funded by institutional donors, such as USAID, DFID/FCDO, SIDA, UN agencies, and others a plus
  • NetHope Member experience highly valued, other NGO experience a plus

Reporting and Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position that reports to the Lead, Climate Intersections.
  • NetHope is a virtual organization, so our team, our Members, and our Partners are located around the world. Due to the global nature of the organization, meetings may thus be required at any time of the day to meet with our stakeholders in varying time zones. To meet these needs, NetHope embraces flexible schedules for team members, and we work with each other to be located globally, but still maintain a reasonable work time balance.
