Background information:

UNICC requires senior cloud solutions consultancy services for delivering Cloud migration and architecture expertise within the Cloud Operations and Platform Service Unit (OPDA). The Cloud Solutions team, provides both project and ongoing services and is geographically distributed among UNICC locations, mainly in Europe

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Participate in pre-sales activities as per the instructions of the unit
  • Coordinate the UNDPIN public cloud project as per the unit instructions
  • Advise a small team of AWS experts in the implementation and support of and advanced platform built on AWS
  • Architect and develop native AWS Cloud solutions to address client’s business needs
  • Under guidance and supervision of the Head OPDA, serve as a liaison between the client and the different involved parties i.e. Cloud broker and Product Development team(s)
  • Translate technical AWS features into business benefits
  • Ensure that all cloud solutions are aligned with UNICC Compliance and security standards
  • Under guidance of the OPDA Cloud Solutions Lead, support the client’s Cloud Center of Excellence in building the cloud strategy, governance, and best practices
  • In collaboration with the Head, OPDA, Support the client in optimizing costs in their use of Public Cloud Services
  • Document the design and architecture of the solutions proposed and implemented

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in Cloud-related projects, including proven exposure to:
    o Planning, development, migration, and integration of applications and services from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based Platform-as-aService and Infrastructure-as-a-Service services
    o Software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
    o AWS & Azure Account Structure, Core Organization Services and IAM
    o Migration discovery, profiling, migration, and operations technologies and tools
    o Enterprise and web-scale software applications, e.g. ERP, SAP, etc.
    o Experience with AWS PaaS DB solutions like RDS (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL like DynamoDB
    o Automation technologies such as Terraform and configuration management such as Ansible
    o Pre-sales and former team coordination experience
  • Ability to interact with customers, ability to assess and gather customer requirements, comparing pros and cons, to propose best suited option and turn them into solution designs
  • Ability to distil complex problems and drive toward creative solutions
  • Understanding of FinOps and cloud optimization techniques

Education:

Essential:

  • First university degree in Computer Science or similar areas

Desirable:

  • Certification in AWS (professional level preferred)
  • ITIL/ ISO 20000 Service Management
  • PMI or Prince 2 Project management

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required

Other Information

Compensation:

Fee will be based either on the National Officer salary scales or the Individual Consultancy band levels (for Headquarters)
