Islamic Relief Worldwide is an independent humanitarian and development organisation, serving humanity for over 40 years. In the UK, IRW has a partner whose main role is to raise funds, raise awareness, carry out advocacy and support domestic programmes: this partner is called Islamic Relief UK (IRUK).
Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is actively recruiting for the position of ‘Community Partnerships Coordinator (North)’ to be based from Manchester/Bradford Offices.
The purpose of the role is to raise income and build long-term relationships, in line with annually agreed targets and budgets, from partnerships and community networks, in support of the activities of Islamic Relief.
The successful candidate must have:
- Demonstrable community fundraising and relationship management experience
- Demonstrable experience of achieving challenging targets
- Proven experience of engaging with community activists, leaders and organisations
- Demonstrable experience creating, building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrate experience developing & growing an existing project/campaign
- Educated to minimum GCSE level in English and Mathematics
- Well-developed vision and ideas for supporting local efforts and partners from the standpoint of IRUK
- Knowledge and understanding of the local community
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills – the ability to present Islamic Relief’s work professionally to key stakeholders within the community and connect with a variety of audiences
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative based team environment
- High level of commercial awareness and professionalism
- Cooperative and supportive team player
- Effective time management skills – adept at handling multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies
- Strong IT skills in particular Microsoft Office Packages
- Strong empathy with the values and aims of Islamic Relief
- Willingness to work flexibly – evenings and weekends
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally when required
- Hold a UK driving licence
