Purpose / Project Description:
Mercy Corps/ Colombia is implementing programs across its humanitarian and development portfolio, while simultaneous preparing for several upcoming new business opportunities, including (but not limited to) proposal development for ECHO, USAID (PRM and BHA) and HGBF programs with ongoing interpretation and translation needs. Similarly, additional support needs are anticipated with respect to program reporting.

Consultant Activities:
The Consultant responsibilities will include:

  • in person simultaneous interpretation
  • online simultaneous interpretation
  • translation

Consultant Deliverables:
Throughout the consultancy, the Consultant will:

  • provide in person simultaneous interpretation
  • perform online simultaneous interpretation
  • conduct reporting and document translation

Timeframe / Schedule:
through Dec 31, 2024

The Consultant will report to:
Country Director (Colombia)

The Consultant will work closely with:

  • Country Director (Colombia)
  • Program Performance and Quality Director (Colombia)
  • Director of Humanitarian Programs (Colombia)
  • Director of Rural Development (Colombia)
  • Various Program Managers (Colombia)

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Track record of successful interpretation and translations deliverables with relevant donors
  • Technical expertise in development in Colombia or similar settings
  • Master’s degree in international development or similar
