Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. is a non-profit, independent organisation that was founded in 1981 on the occasion of the war in Afghanistan and is now active worldwide. With an annual project volume of over 60 million euros, Help provides humanitarian aid in crises and disasters as well as sustainable reconstruction for and with people in need, primarily in Africa, Asia and Europe.

As a global humanitarian aid and development cooperation organisation, Help is highly recognised by national and international donors and is committed to national and international humanitarian aid standards as well as transparent use of funds and impact monitoring.

Job scope: Full-time with 39 hours/week

Country Director:in Ukraine (m/f/d)

Would you like to take on a responsible and meaningful role?

Then support us in the following areas:

• Overall leadership, strategic management and continuous development of Help’s emergency aid and reconstruction projects in Ukraine
• Coordination and management of the Help team in Ukraine
• Representing Help vis-à-vis national and international donors of Help projects in Ukraine
• Project acquisition with national and international donors
• Close and trusting cooperation with Help’s local partner organisations in Ukraine
• Cooperation with authorities and organisations at national and local level in Ukraine
• Systematic and high-quality implementation of projects
• Close cooperation with the Help office in Germany

Convince us with:

• University degree in a degree programme relevant to the position or many years of relevant professional experience in one or more areas of international humanitarian aid/development cooperation/international cooperation (or similar)
• Several years of experience in the development and implementation of international humanitarian aid/development cooperation projects and programmes
• Country experience in Ukraine/region an advantage
  • Proven knowledge of project management, excellent knowledge of project cycle management
  • Experience in coordinating and leading international teams
  • German and English – both mandatory. Ukrainian/Russian language skills are an advantage
  • Strong intercultural skills and very good communication and networking skills
  • Ability to work in a results-orientated and independent manner even in stressful situations and to maintain an overview
