Job Overview:
The Digital Inclusion Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable access to technology and digital literacy resources for refugees with school-age children. They will design, implement, and evaluate programs that empower both parents and children with essential digital skills and bridge the digital divide.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment within the refugee community and collaborate with stakeholders to tailor program content.
- Develop an efficient enrollment process, assess participants’ digital literacy levels, and conduct orientation sessions.
- Develop and deliver culturally sensitive and multilingual digital literacy curricula on basic computer skills, internet usage, online safety, and software applications.
- Source affordable devices for refugee participants and provide multilingual technical support.
- Collaborate with the Development team to create awareness campaigns and organize workshops, webinars, and events.
- Research discounted or subsidized home internet services for low-income families and guide them through the enrollment process.
- Curate or create relevant digital content in multiple languages and offer resources that address the unique needs of both parents and school-age children.
- Set measurable goals, collect feedback, monitor program effectiveness, and report outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and monitor volunteers to work directly with the clients to help them reach their goals.
- Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and other duties as assigned.
- Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive strength-based services to IRC clients through coordination of cases and effective communication between team members and departments.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency and funders, placing importance on client confidentiality.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in human services field are strongly preferred.
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member, and proficient in Microsoft Office application
- Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual ability in a language spoken by the local refugee population is desired.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance, and eligibility for a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card are also required.
Working Environment:
- A combination of standard office environment and ‘field’ time in and around the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
- This position may involve occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate participants’ schedules.
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.
In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12-month time period.
