Mission and objectives

UNDP is the UN’s global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in some 170 countries and territories, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges as they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our wide range of partners.
Based in the middle of Europe, the UNDP Office in Geneva contributes to UNDP’s mission through serving as the UNDP Platform for Geneva and the Geneva-based organizations and as the primary point of contact with the governments of France and Switzerland.

Context

Setup and develop an automated data gathering, analysis, and visualisation flow utilising KoboCollect & PowerBi
UNDP and IOM co-chair the global working group Data for Solutions to Internal Displacement which is tasked with Global-level coordination and collaboration to advance the country-level adoption of the DSID framework (linked below).

The working groups is currently developing a common diagnostic tool to support UN Resident Coordinators and UN Country Teams to utilise it in order to establish a baseline and subsequently monitor progress on the adoption of the DSID Framework.
To that end, a draft of the diagnostic tool was issued and it requires digitalisation in a user friendly data collection software – preferably KoboCollect – the form needs to integrate calculations based on the answers filled by the end-user.
The data then will be linked – through API – to PowerBi where the qualitative and quantitative information collected is made into a visualisation.

Task description

– First volunteer to setup, develop, and test a draft of the data collection form. The volunteer will need to integrate a scoring methodology to evaluate progress based on the answers, the scoring will be cross-cutting thematically and geographically.
– Second volunteer to set up and link the data to PowerBi and generate a report analysing and visualising the data collection in a user friendly dashboard.
