Functional Responsibilities

1. In close cooperation with the internship program coordinator (Gender Equality Officer), under the guidance of the technical supervisors (Energy specialist),  the engineering Interns will assist in performing/reviewing engineering works, focusing on the achievement of the following results:

  • Full compliance of assigned engineering activities with UNOPS rules, regulations, policies and strategies;.  
  • Participate in design drawings and other documentation in their field of specialization.
  • Participate in contract management including taking site measurements, contract variations, QA/QC inspections, keeping site records, and health, safety, and environmental inspections.

2. Participate in supervising the works on site on a regular basis.

  • Conduct regular site visits to investigate, supervise and/or monitor ongoing work.
  • Assisting in site surveys, and preparing survey plans and reports.
  • Assist in the supervision of site work conducted by Contractors. 

3. Participate in collating feedback and preparing related reports.

  • Assist in reviewing contractor reports
  • Assist in ensuring that all related work reporting tools and forms are in place in the field 
  • Assist in the regular engineering or HSSE reporting

Training components and learning elements

The internship is a learning and working opportunity that targets graduates, both fresh and those already in the job market. The intern will assist the Project Manager efficiently and effectively with engineering-related tasks. The Interns will be exposed a practical learning and working experiences that foster the development of his/her path

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Academic qualifications:

  • The candidates should have graduated from a recognized engineering university or are currently enrolled in a University 
  • The candidates who have graduated should have graduated a maximum of three years from the date application
  • The candidate must have a BSc degree in engineering . with honors and RANKED amongst the first 50 graduates. 
  • Proficiency in contemporary computer applications is required, including sound knowledge of Microsoft Office tools/applications and CAD software. 

Language:

  • Fluency  Arabic is required 
  • Intermediate Englisth language is required.

Expereince:: 

  • No specific experience is required for this position.
