Position Title: Finance Assistant

Job Summary:

The Finance Assistant will support the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and sustainability of the organization, which focuses on promoting gender equality and works across various sectors including Protection, Early Recovery, GBV, RSH, and Education in Northwest Syria.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and entered into the financial system.
  2. Payments and Invoicing:

    • Process payments to vendors, staff, and other stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Prepare and manage invoices, ensuring timely collection of receivables.
  3. Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Support the Finance team in financial analysis and budget monitoring.
  4. Compliance:

    • Ensure all financial activities comply with organizational policies and local regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in audits and implement audit recommendations.
  5. Budget Management:

    • Support the Finance team in budget preparation and monitoring.
    • Track expenditures and ensure they are within the approved budget.
  6. Bank Reconciliation:

    • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
    • Resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliation.
  7. Support to Program Teams:

    • Provide financial information and support to program teams to aid in project planning and implementation.
    • Assist in the financial training of program staff.
  8. Administrative Support:

    • Handle financial correspondence and maintain financial files.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience/Languages)

Essential:

  • Associate degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any related field.
  • One year at least of the same work experience
  • Good Command of the Arabic Language (4 skills: Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing).

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any related field.
  • Three years at least of work experience.
  • Good Command of the Turkish Language (4 skills: Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing).
  • Good Command of the English Language (4 skills: Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing).
  • Turkish Nationals
