Job Title: Finance Support Officer

Job Location: Marsabit (Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Kenya at the time of application – National Position)
Contract Details: Fixed term – 12 months. Renewable subject to availability of funding
Salary Range: Basic Salary (Kes 822,946 – 982,167) Per Annum
Job Summary:
The Finance Support Officer is responsible for reviewing financial document, Petty cashbox management, printing quotes, updating books of accounts in excel, Stamping and scanning finance document. Staff timesheet, excellent time management skills will be required to cope with the disparate duties
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing all finance documents and ensuring adherence to finance policy & procedures before making payment
- Issuing of cash in line with Concern’s financial procedures & policies including ensuring the cashbox is stored securely during cash hours
- Conducting daily and weekly cash counts, reconciling cash balances to cashbook balances and reporting any discrepancy
- Preparing the float aging analysis report for review by Line Manager on weekly basis
- Posting all cash and mpesa transactions on a daily basis
- Properly labelling and filing all cash and mpesa documents and files
- Scan finance documents before dispatching originals to Nairobi
- Assist with archiving of financial documents as per Concern’s archiving policy
- Assist in compilation and consolidation of Marsabit staff time sheets and sharing the same with Nairobi finance on monthly basis
- Stamping of the payment vouchers with the relevant stamps available including “POSTED”, “PAID” and ‘PAID from UNICEF ,SWASSAP
- Printing quotes and sharing with requestors’ (logistics and procurement staff) as received via existing electronic means
- Assist Finance Manager Partner in reviewing Marsabit based partners financial accounts and support documents.
Other Duties
- Adhere to and promote the standards outlined in the Concern Code of Conduct and associated policies to their team, beneficiaries, and be committed to providing a safe working environment
- Participating and contributing towards Concern’s emergency response, as and when necessary
- Comply with Concern’s health, safety and security guidelines during emergencies
- Take all possible measure to meet Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS)
- Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager
Minimum Education, Qualifications & Experience Required
- A degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field
- CPA or ACCA professional certification
- At least (2) years’ experience working in finance department
- Familiar with government policies and regulations on taxes
- Excellent application of Excel and Word packages
