Are you seeking a Security career with impact? Samaritans Purse is seeking a Security Manager to serve at the Greta Home & Academy (GHA) in Leogane, Haiti. In this position, you would oversee the safety and security of the staff and children at the Greta Home & Academy. You will also have the opportunity to train a team of security personnel who provide round the clock protection to this site. With your expertise, we will be able to continue working to share the Good News of Jesus Christ while meeting the physical and educational needs of the children we are serving. A day in the life of a Security Manager:

At Samaritans Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of Security Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Work closely with GHA Director to support GHA objectives, while advising on security threats, travel restrictions and program hibernations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with diverse personnel who may impact security of Samaritans Purse personnel and GHA staff and children; these include, but are not limited to, local leaders, police, military, other NGOs, UN and government leaders
  • Monitor potential and present emergencies and threats and keep all staff informed of changes to security protocol, including but not limited to base security procedures, emergency plans, travel restrictions, training new staff/volunteers, etc.
  • Directly supervise GHA national security staff, to include recruiting and training new security staff as needed
  • Maintain disaster response plan, evacuation plan, and other contingency plans as required
  • Assist the Regional Security Director in conducting after-action investigations after security incidents, with regards to International Headquarters (IHQ) policies, legal, and cultural requirements
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree (B. A.) or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • INSSA Security Risk Management Professional (Country Level Cert.); or willingness and ability to become certified within the first 12 months of employment is required
  • Previous security and/or cross-cultural experience, preferred
  • Training Experience, preferred
  • Tactical Military or police experience, preferred
  • Minimum of one year of management experience, preferably in a disaster location
  • Spiritual maturity; ability to lead direct reports in their growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Diplomacy and negotiating skills; coordinate with other agencies, build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Understanding of complex security situations and ability to advise, both verbally and in written form
  • Flexibility and adaptability; critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different educational, linguistic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies, required but can be completed after hire with a program we provide
