Are you looking for a job that is meaningful, challenging, and rewarding? At Finn Church Aid, Finland’s largest international development NGO, we are looking for a new colleague to join us as a full time permanent Group Accounting Manager. Our work in Finland supports directly and indirectly FCA’s 800 + experts located in 14 country office to realize our mission: Action for Human Dignity.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations’ Support, you will lead the Group Accounting Unit (four colleagues), part of Finance and Operations’ Support Department, at the FCA Service and Accountability Centre (SAC) in our office in Helsinki city center (partially remote position).

The Group Accounting Manager works in collaboration with relevant SAC units in Helsinki as well as FCA country offices upon need. Join us and make a difference!

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the Group Accounting team
  • Responsible for the Finnish entities accounting:
  • day-to-day accounting tasks, processing of payments, journals etc.
  • Tax related issues
  • Finnish statutory reporting
  • Responsible for the month & year -end closing routines of the parent company and Finnish based entities
  • Lead and/or participate in development projects in the finance area: systems, processes, trainings and guidelines; Acts (or nominates in the team) as Accounting systems’ Key User
  • Leading and/or participating in External audits when required
  • Owns the Group Treasury

Competence and Personal Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership/management experience
  • Business/Economics Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with relevant work experience (minimum five years), ideally in a global, fast paced and complex environment, including experience of Statutory Accounting ownership; Experience in a non profit organisation will be seen as an advantage
  • Independent and active approach to work with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Diligence and accuracy
  • Positive team spirit and service-mindedness across organizational boundaries in a multicultural environment
  • Robust Excel and IT-skills
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Fluent oral and written proficiency in Finnish and English.

This is a permanent position with six months’ probation period, starting as soon as possible.

The compensation is based on FCA Compensation System and depends on prior work experience. FCA’s benefits package includes comprehensive health care and staff capacity building opportunities.
