MAGENTA is a leading Social and Behavioural Change (SBC) agency that specialises in understanding human decision-making processes in order to design solutions for relevant and impactful solutions to some of the most challenging problems of our time. We implement programmes across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America and The Caribbean using the latest in behavioural science principles and a rigorous approach to research, strategy, campaign design and implementation. MAGENTA’s Africa team operates on a range of projects that include research, strategy development, SBC intervention implementation, and evaluation. We currently operate across West and Central Africa. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join this team, driven by a keen desire to deliver social impact and who thrive in fast-paced environments.
Primary responsibilities of the intern are the following (1) programme management support, (2) business development support, and (3) knowledge management support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The intern will report to the Africa Regional Director. Typical tasks include:
Programme Management Support
· Conduct regular desk review and situation analyses in French and English
· Support analysis of primary data (quantitative and qualitative) to support programme implementation
· Provide inputs to project plans, Gantt charts and resource plans
· Contributing to technical reports, project presentations, and programme updates
· Monitoring of project KPIs and updating of monitoring and evaluation tracking tools
· Filing of project documentation
· Organising project logistics, including travel and calendar scheduling
Business Development Support
· Contribute to project design, including theories of change, activity design, M&E frameworks, resource plans, financial plans
· Contributing to proposal preparation and submission
· Monitoring of tenders and opportunities in Africa
Knowledge management
· Updating MAGENTA databases – past performance records, contact lists, partner testimonials
· Write up detailed meeting notes
· Developing project case studies
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
· Relevant degree from a top tier university required; Masters preferred
Experience:
· Substantial knowledge of one of the following: International Development, Programme Management, Behavioural Sciences, Social Sciences, Communications
· Ability to work effectively, respectfully and successfully with governments, clients, partners and other stakeholders in complex settings;
· Knowledge of Africa strongly desired, lived experience in Africa an asset;
· Excellent written and spoken French, working proficiency in English is required;
· Technological and software fluency, include Office 365.
