Under the overall direction of the Regional SBC Specialist (Emergencies) of UNICEF LACRO and in the framework, we are seeking for a SBC Intern with the skills to create engaging and creative content for UNICEF IoGT and Virtual Campus platforms. The intern we are seeking is creative, dynamic, self-driven, up to date and passionate about the latest technologies and techniques and can apply them to generate content.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, Opportunities.

UNICEF in Latin America and the Caribbean is composed of 24 country offices that work in 35 countries and territories. The main role of the regional office is to provide technical assistance, build the capacity and exercise quality control to the 24 country offices. The Social and Behavioural Change (SBC) section responds to these Country Offices through technical expertise and advisory and leveraging initiatives and platforms to accelerate results in the different programmes that it serves.

For the emergency context, the team has identified particular challenges in the CO’s with one of the main areas of opportunity to increase capacity and inter-country coordination in the response for 1) Children on the Move, with important takes in both the Central America and Mexico (CAMEX) sub-regional SBC response and 2) capacity development for adequate preparedness, response and mitigation.

How can you make a difference?

We are seeking for an intern who is creative, dynamic, self-driven, up to date and passionate about the latest technologies and techniques and can apply them to generate content.

The purpose of the internship is to support the regional office’s (RO) SBC with the management and creation of the thematic content that will be integrated into the Internet of the Good Things (IoGT) platform, liaison, and coordination of revision rounds with the thematic experts and counterparts (Cos), factchecking the relevance and pertinence with Country Offices and organizing the content in the platforms.

The two main activities that have been identified for the support of the COs are: 1) the implementation of a sub-regional Internet of the Good Things platform that covers CAMEX and 2) an online Virtual Reality SBC in emergencies campus that provides training based on the pre-identified needs that are reflected on the SBC in Emergencies Dashboard.

The SBC Intern will work within the UNICEF SBC section in the Regional Office and will have the opportunity to contribute to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of all the regional SBC work in emergency and migration.
