BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE:
DEPARTMENTAL PURPOSE:
The Oxfam International Operations Department includes a range of functions including; Safeguarding, Finance, People and Culture, IT Systems, Risk and assurance, and Legal. These functions provide safe and inclusive operational services that enable the Confederation to have greater impact and support the delivery of the OIS strategy. This to be achieved through the management and continual improvement of Oxfam International Secretariat’s key operational functions. This includes the provision of services and support to OI (OIS and Countries and Region); coordination of these functions across the Confederation to facilitate greater efficiencies, harmonization of services for improved quality and consolidation of key operational data; operational support to countries and regions, in close partnership with Oxfam Affiliates.
TEAM PURPOSE:
In conjunction with internal and external partners, the Information Systems team builds simplicity, transparency, and trust across the Confederation through the alignment, design, implementation and operation of safe and robust information systems and collaboration tools that adapt to Oxfam’s ever-evolving needs.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior IT Operations Specialist is the internal expert and escalation point, responsible for generating innovative solutions and solving complex problems related to the team’s projects and operational activities. These include, but not limited to, the Global O365 and MS Entra services, SSO & Identity management in Okta, Enterprise Systems, on-premises Active Directory, Networking within OIS offices, Information Security & Data Protection, Hardware & Software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The role is accountable for the maintenance and improvement of efficient, secure, cost-effective, and user-friendly technical solutions that meet the goals and needs of the organization across a wide range of technologies and services.
- In collaboration with the InfoSec team & Managed Security Service Provider, lead the proactive Information Security operational activities including management of technical controls and implementation of the vulnerability management program.
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and Defender, including the segregation policies in the global shared tenant.
- Lead on device lifecycle management, software management and the development and maintenance of the compliance & configuration policies in MS Endpoint Manager.
- Manage the maintenance activities of the OIS enterprise systems i.e. MS Dynamics 365, Salesforce, and the HR Applicant tracking & Payroll Systems. This will involve working with other members of the team to ensure maintenance tasks are being regularly undertaken and tracked.
- Ensure the ongoing evolution of the operational activities related to identity management, Entra & OKTA SSO for Enterprise Applications, Teams integrations.
- Maintain hygiene in the global systems including the review of the Message Centre alerts in Microsoft Admin Centre, AD Sync Errors, Intune & Entra stale device clean-ups, OKTA Push groups errors to the global applications that authenticate via OKTA.
- Design, implement and evolve the technical solutions for Oxfam International’s internal infrastructure, covering networking, A/V and office security.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
Essential
- Proven experience in supporting global systems in an organization.
- Proven experience in the administration of the M365 Microsoft Stack i.e. MS Entra, Endpoint Manager (Intune), Defender for Security, Exchange online, PowerShell Scripting, SharePoint Online.
- Proven experience in cloud based SSO, Identity Management and Document Management technologies.
- Proven experience in global, regional, country and field IT operations including setting up new offices and deploying IT services (both locally and remotely).
- Ability to coordinate with multiple internal teams and third-party software vendors as needed for resolution of business-impacting problems.
- Strong knowledge in analysing and interpreting information security threats and remediations.
- Extensive experience in supporting enterprise systems for operations and grants management e.g. Dynamics 365 & Salesforce.
- Advanced knowledge in Network & Infrastructure management.
- Knowledge and experience of ITIL v3/v4.
In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent communications skills in both written and spoken English. They should be organized and able to work under pressure and should demonstrate a track record of going beyond the expectations of their customers and stakeholders.
Desirable
- Competent in design thinking, creative & innovative.
- Competent in designing and implementing automation on repetitive operational tasks.
- Certified Endpoint Administrator.
- Certified Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate.
- Certified Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals.
- Experience and, ideally, certification in Box administration.
- Experience and, ideally, certification in Okta administration.
