Job Overview: The CEO is a subsidiary of the International Rescue Committee and a non-profit financial institution that offers accessible, small-dollar consumer and microenterprise loans primarily to refugees, immigrants, and other traditionally financially excluded communities. CEO makes its loans through partnerships with trusted community-based organizations that offer financial education and other asset-building services.
The Lien & Title Coordinator is a new remote position (although based in San Diego) with primary responsibility for supporting essential filing, perfecting and lien release related to CEO’s auto loan and auto refinance products across multiple states. The position works directly with borrowers, auto dealers and internal CEO staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of the lien-filing process. Reporting to the Support Supervisor, the Coordinator also has responsibility for supporting the filing of other collateral, primarily lien filings on business assets as required for new business loan originations. The position also supports collections efforts.
CEO is rapidly expanding nationally and offers opportunity for career growth. 10% – 15% of each week may be spent gaining experience across any of CEO’s core operational areas – including project design, loan underwriting, grant and donor support, communications, partnerships or monitoring and evaluation.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support in auto loan closing process, including conducting vehicle valuations and engaging directly with auto dealers to exchange details and finalize transactions
- Process and manage liens and vehicle title documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
- Verify information on title documents, including ownership details, lienholder information, and vehicle identification numbers (VINs)
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and finance, as well as external stakeholders, such as auto dealers or other finance agencies, to facilitate the timely and accurate processing of title transactions
- Communicate with external parties, such as government agencies, to obtain necessary documentation and resolve title-related issues
- Stay updated on changes in title laws, regulations, and industry best practices
- Prepare and submit required paperwork to the appropriate authorities for title transfers and registrations
- Maintain organized and accurate records of title transactions and related documents
- Address customer inquiries and concerns related to title processing in a professional and timely manner
- Assist in the development and improvement of title processing procedures to enhance efficiency
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulations
- Support in collections and repossession
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in title processing is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience with liens, titles, or loan security
- Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for title processing a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Working Environment***:***
- This is a remote position but candidates must reside in the greater San Diego area to support mailing and receipt of liens and title documents. The majority of the workday is at a computer terminal. While remote, the position does require regular weekly local travel to support administrative functions core to the job (checking mail, sending correspondence, etc).
Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits.
