Major Responsibilities:

The Officer, Global New Business will identify, establish and develop new relationships with companies and corporate foundations across the globe, with a general focus on cultivating relationships within the following key strategic sectors: financial services, healthcare, technology, consumer goods and gaming. Working collaboratively with colleagues across account management, partner engagement, communications, and programs teams, the Officer will help manage the New Business team’s pipeline of global corporate partnerships that deliver significant, sustainable income and raise the profile of the IRC around the world. They will also proactively manage their own portfolio of key peer-to-peer contacts within international companies, ensuring a considered and strategic approach to corporate cultivation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifying and securing new corporate partnerships (50%)

• Proactively identify, cultivate and secure 5- and 6-figure high-level, high impact, new business partnerships, ensuring that ambitious corporate partnership targets are achieved;

• Balance the demands of new business acquisition with early stages of account management in order to quickly build new partnerships into sustainable, multi-year strategic relationships;

• Align the strategies, objectives, interests, and communication priorities of corporate supporters with the needs and expectations of the IRC to facilitate long-term mutually rewarding funding partnerships. This may include building partnerships to secure cash, gifts in kind, employee fundraising, thought leadership and cause related marketing;

• Acquire and maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of IRC values and programs and ensure the development and delivery of best-in-class proposals, in line with IRC processes;

• Maintain and increase effective use of Salesforce for data capture and donor analysis of corporate donor and stakeholder records, ensuring that income is processed in a timely manner and is compliant with fundraising standards and regulations.

Support for Global New Business (50%)

• In addition to own portfolio, implement established new business strategies and solicitation plans for key corporate audiences under the guidance of New Business leaders;

• Demonstrate commitment to collaboration and ‘best teams approach’ to help support the global new business strategy;

• Build excellent relationships with all key stakeholders across the organization including colleagues in the fundraising and partnership support teams, technical unit advisors, regional program staff, country directors and regional directors;

• Ensure the smooth and successful handover of corporate accounts between new business and account management by keeping close records of partnership priorities and action steps;

• Collaborate closely with Global Partnerships and Philanthropic Services (GPPS) team for research, writing and general support needs, and adhere to and uphold the due diligence policy at all times, for both global and market specific partnerships.

Essential Qualifications:

Work Experience:

– Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent 4-5 years’ equivalent experience;

– Three years’ experience of front-line corporate fundraising and/or sales experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

– Ability to develop thoughtful project management plans and implement them in timely and detailed fashion;

– Shown organizational and time management skills: the ability to work accurately and productively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities;

– Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills: the ability to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external contacts with confidence and poise.

Desired Qualifications:

– Strong project management skills, experience working on multiple projects with global cross-functional teams;

– Salesforce or other CRM experience

Working Environment:

This role may require working remotely full- or part-time (i.e., telecommuting). Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled hours.

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits:

The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
