JOB SUMMARY
The Outreach Coordinator will play a vital role in expanding MedGlobal presence and impact within the greater Chicago area. They will support MedGlobal fundraising efforts by building and maintaining relationships with donors, community organizations, and other stakeholders. This position focuses on planning and executing outreach activities, coordinating events, and enhancing community engagement to further MedGlobal mission. This position requires a dynamic individual who is highly organized, possesses excellent communication skills, and is committed to advancing global health through philanthropy.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and other potential partners.
- Represent MedGlobal at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to raise awareness about the organization’s mission and fundraising goals.
- Organize and participate in community outreach activities to engage and educate the public about MedGlobal work.
- Conduct research to identify and cultivate relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporations with an interest in supporting MedGlobal mission.
- Cultivate relationships with corporate employees and launch matching gifts campaigns.
- Collaborate with existing partners to develop joint initiatives and programs.
- Assist with planning and executing local fundraising events
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for various outreach activities and events.
- Work with the fundraising team to develop and implement effective outreach strategies to increase donor engagement and support.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, donor interactions, and event details.
- Provide general administrative support to the fundraising team as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in outreach, fundraising, or community engagement, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with donor management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for MedGlobal’s mission and a commitment to humanitarian principles.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- This position is based out of Chicago, IL, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Some travel may be necessary to attend events and meetings within the community.
