Objectives
Working as part of a technical team on a project dedicated to supporting the organizational development and capacity strengthening of WHH national partners.
Working jointly with national partner organizations and the Head of Project to identify strengths and gaps in partner finance capacity and to implement capacity development plans in the areas detailed in the Job Description below.
Working directly with national partners to build their capacity in essential finance functions and supporting them in conducting all financial planning and reporting needed for the program activities
Tasks
- Support WHH national partner organizations in planning and implementing a financial management plan for their organizations in line with international best practice and common donor guidelines.
- Review and support the preparation of partner budgets.
- Train partner staff in financial management and reporting activities and provide them with the job support.
- Review monthly financial reports of partners and provide feedback to aid learning.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits with the partner staff in order to foster learning and adaptive management in budgeting, financial management and financial planning.
- Support partners in the preparation of internal and donor financial reporting (monthly closures, annual financial statement, interim and final donor reports).
- Advise the partner staff on appropriate tools, systems, and policies to be put in place to strengthen financial management and reporting.
- Work closely with the partners finance and logistics staff to ensure procurements and service contracts are awarded and managed in line with international best practice.
- Where applicable, contribute to audits preparation with partners.
- Fulfill other tasks which are assigned by the Head of Project and correspond in general with the character of this position.
- Promote safety awareness and environmental consciousness and comply with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Promote and take an active part in quality improvement processes.
- Comply with labor discipline, labor protection and safety rules, fire-prevention requirements, industrial sanitation and labor hygiene rules, Safety, and Environmental regulations and guidelines.
Specific Qualification
- Intermediate to fluent level of verbal and written English
- Knowledge of labor discipline, labor protection and safety rules, fire-prevention requirements, industrial sanitation and labor hygiene rules
- Experience of working with national organizations
