Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. On average, the farmers we serve harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

About the Role
One Acre Fund is looking for a Policy and Partnerships Associate to join our Business Development team. You will help build new programmatic partnerships with a range of public donors, and will represent the voices of One Acre Fund’s smallholder farmer clients in the US funding and policy ecosystem. You will report to the Global Policy Director.
Responsibilities

Portfolio project management: support the Global Policy Director to manage a portfolio of projects, including developing new proposals and managing existing grants.
- Portfolio management – create and maintain a project tracker, and manage deadlines.
- Opportunity monitoring and proposal support – research new funding opportunities, and support the development and writing of proposals with Business Development colleagues.
- Project stewardship – independently lead the reporting and compliance management of select, existing grants.

Network strengthening: improve the process for, and increase the frequency of engagement with key policy and partnership related networks.
- Contact management – build and manage an improved contact management process, linked to the Salesforce CRM.
- Own relationships of select contacts – help expand this network through building new relationships (eg. development contractors, USAID staff, multilaterals).

Policy work: help maintain key policy nodes and explore new policy opportunities:
- Coalition engagement: lead a subset of regular meetings with Washington DC-based coalitions, to gather information and drive policy agendas.
- Congressional meetings: hold occasional policy meetings with a Congressional staffers.
- Climate policy: support One Acre Fund’s active engagement at with global fora like the Climate COPs.
- Writing: help write policy-related op-eds and research memos.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree and 2 or 3 years experience in international development, grant management or a related field
- Project management experience, including experience building project trackers that manage work from multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of public donors.
- Experience managing external stakeholders.
