We are looking for an individual with proven administration and communication skills, to work as Policy and Programme Development Unit Facilitator. The purpose of the PPDT is to drive up the quality, impact and influence of integrated (advocacy and development) programmes that attract funding from host and donor governments, international institutions and businesses and persuade them to join a church based movement for ambitious change.
The PPDT sits within the Global Influencing and Programmes Group. It includes three sub-teams: Programme Quality, Programme Funding and Public Policy. The GIPG consists of Tearfund’s regional and country teams and Operations and Influencing Teams which collaborate closely with and provide support to the regional and country teams.
The successful candidate will support the Head of the PPD Unit and the teams within the unit. in core administrative functions. The role will manage logistics, payments and events and ensure the team has a good working culture. To support the effective functioning of the Policy and Programme Development Team (PPDT) by providing administrative support to the Head of PPDT and by supporting the sub-teams within PPDT in the following areas: team meetings, administration; corporate reporting, payments, coordination and communication. To facilitate and support the effective functioning of community of practice and cross organisational coordination and collaboration mechanisms such as Thematic Forums.
There is also the opportunity to have one day a week allocated to an area of interest related to any of the sub-teams work in order to further personal development
We are looking for someone who is:
- A people person
- An effective communicator
- A strong administrator who is efficient in self managing tasks
- Someone who is great at building relationships and shows initiative
Applicants must have excellent written and spoken English, well developed IT proficiency and great interpersonal skills.
Please note: applicants must be based in either the UK or Africa within a 3 hour (plus or minus) time zone of the UK.
