ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE

SSecours Islamique France (SIF) is an international No n-Governmental Organization founded in 1991 in France and has been working around the world since then. SIF is based on Islam’s human value of solidarity and respect for human dignity. SIF is dedicated to reducing poverty and vulnerability across the world without any proselytism nor discrimination. In Kenya and Somalia Mission, SIF supports vulnerable communities through several humanitarian and development assistance programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management Activities.

  • Participate in scoping missions to identify new program/intervention areas within the SIF mandate;
  • Assist in writing project proposals by carrying out research on various relevant issues;
  • Provide support in planning session and production of quality work plans and related documentations for SIF projects;
  • Coordinate preparation of Monthly Situation Reports (SITREP);
  • Participate in monitoring sessions, including visiting projects sites including collection and analysis of data;
  • Assist in assessments and surveys and compilation of quality reports;
  • Support in implementation of different projects in different locations in Kenya and Somalia;
  • Report regularly to programs coordinator on project management matters and assist in compilation of project progress reports;
  • Co-organization and participation in review meetings under the supervision of the Programs Coordinator;
  • Support development and updating of project management plans (PMPs);
  • Routine correspondence and filling of important documentation;
  • Liaison with – and support to – the field teams to ensure efficient and effective project implementation;
  • Working with the program team and MEAL department to prepare periodic and end of project narrative reports and other reports as required;
  • Supporting Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation department in preparing partnerships and donor mapping tools, coordinating Resource Mobilisation Working Group, and documentation for resource mobilisation.
  • Assist in reviewing and redesigning intervention in consultation with the project team members in response to evolving needs of beneficiary groups;
  • Actively assist and participate in project events (meeting/workshops/trainings);
  • Timely mobilization and effective communication with communities and stakeholders during baseline evaluations;
  • Participation in meetings with NGOs and other actors working in the sector as requested;
  • Implement project operating procedures together with project team members;
  • Ensure compliance with SIF human resource, program and administrative policies and procedures;
  • Under the direction of the program coordinator, support field offices in the development and implementation of seasonal projects ( Ramadhan & Sacrifice);
  • Prepare distribution schedules and other necessary documentation that will aid in effective and efficient distribution of various commodities within the areas of operation;
  • Under the direction of the Programs coordinator, oversee the effective implementation of distribution of various commodities in accordance with the approved beneficiary groups;
  • Plan and facilitate meetings with the representatives of the partner organizations (information, selection, partnership, accountability, etc);
  • Ensure the involvement and information of projects partners and authorities (social action, town hall, etc.);
  • Ensure monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the projects is done in a timely and effective manner.

Administrative, Financial and Logistical Management of Projects

  • Collaborate with members of the HR/administrative and logistics teams to ensure optimal project delivery;
  • Participate in the development of projects management tools (distribution listing, partnership agreement, etc.);
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with SIF administrative and financial policies and procedures to ensure effective management and avoid unnecessary overrun and misappropriation;
  • Assist in proper logistics of project; prospecting, ordering, purchasing, transportation and documentation;
  • Apply and enforce the procedures and internal regulations of SIF.

Communication and Representation

  • Under supervision of Programs Coordinator, ensure the effective information between the coordination, the support and the project teams;
  • In collaboration with the Project Coordinator, develop relationships with other local structures whose mandate corresponds to the objectives of the projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social sciences, or any other relevant degree;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the field of project implementation;
  • Demonstrated experience in project proposal & report writing;
  • Experience in project cycle management;
  • Experience working in collaboration with NGOs, government agencies & other stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated experience working in teams to achieve set objectives and targets;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Excellent Computer skills (MS Package), knowledge of statistical software and/or qualitative data management software will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Familiarity with Somalia Context and local culture is a plus.

SIF implements a Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), and implement all necessary measures to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with vulnerable people, in particular with children join the organization. This position is subject to criminal records disclosure and reference checks. SIF has zero tolerance on child abuse and take any allegation or report of child abuse are taken very seriously.”

  • Successfully candidates will be required to provide a Valid Police Clearance Certificate (Issued in within the last 3 months)
