POSITION SUMMARY:

HIAS is seeking a Program Coordinator, Family Reunification Support to work closely with resettlement agencies in the HIAS network to submit Lautenberg Affidavits of Relationship (AORs) and Refugee Information Forms (RIFs), P3 AORs and Central American Minor (CAM) AORs. The Program Coordinator, Family Reunification Support will provide assistance at the affiliate level to one region of the HIAS network, including the completion of family reunification applications, case management support, outreach, and response to inquiries from the public as needed.

The Program Coordinator, Family Reunification Support may also be asked to assist with affiliate training, resource development, and application vetting at the HIAS Headquarters level.

Note, the salary range for this position is $55,000.00-60,000.00.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists assigned affiliates with the submission of Lautenberg AORs, RIFS, CAM AORs and/or P3 AORs; this may be through technical assistance to affiliate staff working on these applications or one-on-one in remote consultations with petitioners, as needed in each particular location.
  • Assists assigned affiliates with case management of submitted Lautenberg AORs, RIFs, CAM AORs, and/or P3 AORs; this might include management of needed case corrections and amendments, as well as communication with petitioners around case processing steps.
  • Provides back-up to the other regional coordinators as needed.
  • If there is a large number of interested petitioners in one affiliate location, the Program Coordinator, Family Reunification Support may be asked to travel to that location to provide an in-person workshop and complete family reunification applications with petitioners.
  • Facilitates timely and accurate processing of AORs in the IRIS database through communication with HIAS HQ staff and petitioners; responds to requests for corrections or additional documentation within the deadlines presented to ensure that cases move through the process.
  • Provides support to affiliates regarding outreach to the community on family reunification programs.
  • Provides family reunification training to affiliates, in collaboration with the HIAS HQ Family Reunification team.
  • Creates family reunification resources for affiliate use, in collaboration with the HIAS HQ Family Reunification team.
  • As back-up to other HIAS HQ family reunification staff, receives, reviews and submits Lautenberg AORs, RIFS, CAM AORs and/or P3 AORs to the Refugee Processing Center and Refugee Support Centers as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Refugee Program required; previous work experience at a resettlement affiliate strongly preferred, particularly in family reunification programs.
  • Knowledge of the IRIS database system preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint and MS Teams, preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, or Ukrainian speaking ability preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain key relationships with program staff at HIAS affiliates and other national voluntary agencies.
  • Well-organized with immaculate attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Travel, to include travel to insecure operating environments, may be required.
