Concern Worldwide US (CUS) is an independent affiliate of Concern Worldwide, with offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. CUS advances the Concern Worldwide mission through mobilizing financial and human resources, as well as influencing and activating networks in the US to elevate programs globally.

The Program Coordinator, Humanitarian Research and Training Unit (HRTU) will be a new and integral member of Concern’s Humanitarian Research and Training Unit. Working within Concern’s Programs Department and Country teams, this entry level position will support the implementation and expansion of a growing collection of Concern’s humanitarian capacity strengthening and research programs. Specifically, this role will work directly under two such USAID funded programs: the National NGO Program on Humanitarian Leadership (NNPHL), and the Building a Better Response Project (BBR).

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in the humanitarian sector, be extremely detail oriented, not adverse to administrative work, and have a flexible schedule with the ability to travel internationally.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Workshop Logistics

  • Support the pre-travel planning, administration, and logistics for BBR and NNPHL and in-person trainings (e.g. travel and venue logistics, participant support, etc.) including on-site logistics for week-long NNPHL leadership action summits.
  • Support all on-site workshop logistics, including liaising with venue staff, and other workshop related vendors; and provide onsite troubleshooting for the participants and support the instructors when needed.

Program Administration & Finance

  • In collaboration the team, support the development of donor reporting; submit quarterly and bi-annual USAID narrative and financial reports as well as support with monitoring program deliverables.
  • Support financial and contractual management of HRTU programming, including credit reconciliation, participant reimbursements, and consultant payments.
  • Provide ad-hoc administration support to the organization’s Programs Team and other projects as needed.

Program Coordination

  • Update and disseminate program calls for application and support the selection processes for the NNPHL Blended Leadership Program and BBR trainings.
  • Assist in all aspects of Canvas maintenance (Learning Management System) and hosting large zoom webinars/ calls.
  • Adapt program documents NNPHL and BBR participant cohorts (e.g., Participant Handbook, Syllabus, Welcome and Logistics Note, Participant Bios, etc.).
  • Support the coordination of the NNPHL Teaching Fellows program including recruitment, onboarding, and performance monitoring and evaluation.
  • Track and review Knowledge Sharing Session final assignments for the NNPHL program cohorts. This includes updating and maintaining related program documents, following-up with program participants and their fellows on progress, managing submissions/filing and documenting final assignment topics.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure in order to meet multiple, competing deadlines.
  • Must possess strong emotional intelligence and able to manage competing interests and ideas.
  • Must be culturally sensitive and able to work with cohorts of participants from around the world.
  • Possess energy, initiative, and flexible approach to work, including with the willingness to travel internationally and domestically (approximately 30%).
  • Strong commitment to Concern’s mission and values.
  • Candidate must have eligibility to work in the US.

DESIRABLE

  • Undergraduate degree in Humanitarian Assistance, International Development, or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience participating in, coordinating, or supporting blended learning programs (i.e. in-person and distance learning).
  • Experience in supporting capacity strengthening programs.
  • Familiarity with collecting and analyzing program data.
  • Familiarity with US Government donor relations and compliance, particularly USAID/BHA.
