Job Title: Programme Development and Grants Manager
Job Location: Flexible in the UK
Salary £38,031 per annum based on 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent

Can you design and deliver FCDO and other UK ODA (Official Development Assistance) funded programmes in ways that engage and achieve maximum benefit for affected populations?

You will ensure that that the grant management requirements of the FCDO funded programme are met.  Increasing the British Red Cross’ and the wider RCRC Movement’s access to FCDO / UK ODA funding through supporting BRC and partners to manage FCDO funding, develop high quality proposals, and compliance and accountability initiatives will be a vital part of your next exciting role.

A day in the life of a Programme Development and Grants Manager will involve:

  • Facilitate the grant management on FCDO Accountable Grant Agreement (AGAs) and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and ensure systems and processes are in place for monitoring the programme and for compliance with FCDO requirements such as safeguarding and due diligence.
  • Grant manage FCDO emergency and long-term programmes.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, high quality donor reports (narrative and financial) are submitted to the FCDO fund manager
  • Facilitate and support engagement with FCDO on multi-lateral funding opportunities for emergencies, including advise on standard ways of working, due diligence processes, MoU negotiations, reporting and other terms and conditions.
  • Support the development of FCDO programme guidance, training tools and workshops to improve institutional awareness of FCDO, their expectations and compliance areas.

Do you have the following skills and experience to be a successful Programme Development and Grants Manager?

  • Up to date knowledge of themes and issues of particular interest to FCDO?
  • Strong knowledge of FCDO funding priorities and procedural requirements – Experience building and maintaining partnerships and relationships?
  • Proven skills in project / programme management techniques, processes and controls including project planning; project change control; resource allocation; and team management?
  • Grant managing government donor funding – Experience providing support and advice to a diverse range of stakeholders based overseas?
  • Experience of providing grant related advice and support within a project / programme / area of responsibility?
  • Establishing effective relationships to influence and enable decision making?
  • Coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders?
  • Experience in managing all aspects of large grants or contracts to high standards of performance and accountability (including FCDO)?
