We are looking for a Programme Officer within the Eurasia and North Africa Team. They will have an initial focus on supporting our programmes in Afghanistan and Yemen.

The Programme Officer will provide partner liaison and programme support to Tearfund’s work in Afghanistan and Yemen in line with the Country strategy, Country Operational Plans and Tearfund’s Humanitarian Response in Afghanistan and Yemen. The programme officer is also responsible for the partner and Tearfund compliances, partnerships and communication needs related to country programmes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor Degree in management, sociology, Development or relevant subject
  • Professional experience of working with partners in the Middle East involved in humanitarian work in complex environments or hard to reach areas
  • Very good organisational and scheduling skills
  • Able to prioritise
  • Flexibility-Able to take initiative and be willing to adjust with situation
  • Computer literate – experience of Word, Excel and Google Chrome
  • Able to learn and use new applications effective
  • Strong communication skills with oral and written proficiency in English.

This role will be based in one of the following countries: Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria or Pakistan. Salary will be dependent on location.
