Who we are?
IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.
IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects
During the last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH, and Camp Management
Responsibilities:
Program Support:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of PSS activities in Gaziantep, Turkey.
- Support the PSS team in organizing and facilitating group sessions, awareness-raising activities, and psychoeducation sessions for the affected population.
- Help maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to PSS activities.
Administrative Support:
- Assist in scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining proper filing systems.
- Coordinate logistics for PSS activities, including venue booking, transportation, and procurement of necessary materials.
- Provide general administrative support to the PSS team, including drafting correspondence, preparing meeting minutes, and managing communication channels.
Outreach and Community Engagement:
- Assist in conducting community outreach activities to raise awareness about available PSS services and promote mental health and psychosocial well-being.
- Support the PSS team in building and maintaining relationships with local community members, stakeholders, and service providers.
- Participate in community events and activities as needed to promote PSS services and engage with the affected population.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Assist in data collection, including surveys, assessments, and feedback from beneficiaries.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into designated databases or information systems.
- Contribute to the preparation of regular progress reports and updates on PSS activities.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on the latest developments in the field of PSS through continuous learning and professional development.
- Actively participate in training and capacity-building opportunities provided by IDA Organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the field of PSS or mental health.
- Knowledge of PSS principles, approaches, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in Arabic and Turkish (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and respect for the local context in Gaziantep specifically and Turkey.
- Attendance of pre-training on psycho-social support, case management, and PFA
- Complying with IDA Code of Conduct and PSEA Policy
