The purpose of the Regional HR Partner (RHRP) is to support DRC Regional Management, Head of Region and Country Managers, in all aspects of Human Resource Management including in particular recruitment, employee relations and duty of care. As RHRP, you will become a part of a dynamic regional team based in Beirut (Lebanon) as well as the broader Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, the world’s largest humanitarian network.
The Danish Red Cross (DRC) has been present in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region since 2002. Currently, we work in Iraq, Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt), Syria, Libya, and Yemen. Each of these countries is directly or indirectly affected by civil war or international conflict, and DRC supports the Red Cross/Red Crescent (RCRC) National Societies (NS) with interventions in the fields of Emergency Relief, Health, Psychosocial Support (PS), Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), and Organisational Development (OD).
We emphasize the strengthening of our partner NS, both through organisational development and operational capacity building, and we see integrity, transparency, autonomy, and sustainable volunteer structures as conditions for building long-term effectiveness and efficiency. DRC’s total turnover in the region was DKK 140,000,000 in 2022.
Your main tasks include:
- Manage end to end recruitment process
- Provide advice and tools around talent attraction
- Ensure a smooth onboarding and induction for all new employees within the region
- Proactively seek solutions to the Country Managers Human Resource challenges in liaison with the Danish Red Cross HR department when relevant
- Liaison with the HR department of other RCRC partners
- Contribute to implementing DRC global HR policies, tools, procedures and initiatives
- Representing DRC and developing partnerships with Regional Country Offices and other in-country partners and stakeholders
- Ensure lesson learned as the foundation for developing DRC HR Management in the MENA region

We believe that you fit this position, if
- Relevant academic background, e.g., Master Degree in Human Resource Management or other relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience within HR incl. with international recruitments
- Relevant international work experience from humanitarian or development contexts
- Knowledge of working conditions in fragile contexts
- Relevant experience leading and driving recruitment processes from A to Z
- Work experience from the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is an asset
- Flexible and confident self-management during peak workloads and in situations of stress
- Ability to work in demanding and rapidly changing situations is important
- Excellent communication, coordination, networking and facilitation skills
- Results oriented and patient with strong cultural sensitivity
- Full proficiency in English speaking and writing is a requirement
- Arabic will be an asset
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office pack
- Valid driver’s license
Employment Conditions
Preferred starting date is 15 of July 2024 on a two-year contract with possibility of extension. The duty station is Beirut in Lebanon which is a family duty station. Some regional travels to high insecure contexts are expected as well as visits to the DRC HQ in Copenhagen (if relevant).
The contract will be administered in accordance with the Danish Red Cross Terms & Conditions for Delegates. Attractive salary package, depending on the salary scale of the organization.
