JOB SUMMARY
JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure effective implementation of safeguarding policies, and respond to any concerns relating to child protection issues.
Analyze data from the results of the evaluation of community institutions aimed at determining the extent of their commitment to child rights standards, and participate in developing response plans to develop these institutions.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
- Follow up on the implementation of child protection policies and procedures within schools, organization centers, and in governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations located in the targeted communities.
- Ensure that risks and strategies related to child protection are assessed on a regular basis within schools.
- Supervise the implementation of standards follow-up teams of the plans developed with the standards integration department.
- Provide technical and supervisory support to the team regarding mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of protection standards.
- Submit periodic reports to the program officer regarding monitoring standards.
- Conduct regular field visits to all program sites to support and evaluate the teams’ adherence to child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all staff, partners and beneficiaries are aware of the organization’s strict policy on sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Work on integrating protection principles into the targeted communities at all levels, and monitor the progress made by institutions in the agreed action plans. In adopting and understanding the basics of child protection and safeguarding.
- Conduct periodic analyses of the level of understanding and application of child rights in targeted communities and prepare appropriate response plans
- Facilitate activities of meetings and discussion sessions of committees at the institutional and community levels
- Prepare a program to build the capacity of the organization’s staff and schools on child protection concepts, policies and procedures, with a clear timetable, steps to be taken and goals to be achieved.
- Provide training to staff, partners and the community on topics related to protection and PESA and provide advisory and training services to partner agencies in coordination with the Standards Integration Department
- Coordinate with other agencies, governmental and non-governmental organizations to implement and coordinate common standards, and ensure the effective response necessary to protect children exposed to violence and abuse in all sectors.
- Strengthen the role of civil society institutions in mobilizing and advocating for the application of the basics of children’s rights in various fields.
- Hold periodic dialogue sessions and interviews with children to involve them in planning processes for the application of the minimum standards for children’s rights in targeted communities.
- Analyze data from the results of the evaluation of community institutions aimed at determining the extent of their commitment to child rights standards, and participate in developing response plans to develop these institutions.-
- Develop and strengthen internal coordination mechanisms regarding child protection issues.
- Developing complaints mechanisms related to child protection and sending reports on complaints or notifications of breaches of protection and codes of conduct
- Leading investigations related to child protection and providing the required files and documentation after conducting the investigation process.
- And supporting the implementation of PSEA policies and procedures.
- Submitting weekly and monthly project reports
- Performing any other tasks requested by the direct manager.
Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
- University degree
- At least four years of experience in humanitarian work in the field of protection with other humanitarian organizations.
- Experience in child and women protection projects
- Previous experience working in an administrative position within humanitarian organizations with the ability to manage teams
- Holds a certificate of training trainers in various protection fields
- Has the ability to analyze data
- High experience in email correspondence
- High English language skills
- Self-motivated and initiative with a high level of energy.
- Strong knowledge and commitment to humanitarian work standards.
- Commitment to human rights and community approach
- Ability to work within a team under pressure and respond to changing needs.
- Priority for applicants within the work areas
Language
- Excellent level in English
- fluent in Arabic (written and spoken).
IT skills
- Excellent computer skills .
- Proficiency in the internet and search tools.
- Proficiency in MS office (Excel, Access and word)
