Generations For Peace is supporting one of its partners, the Jordan Olympic Committee, in recruiting for the following position:
- The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) is the governing body for sports in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Founded in 1957, the JOC became the nurturing body for 52 Olympic and non-Olympic sports federations and entities in the kingdom, laying down the foundation and trail to develop and rise with the state of sports in Jordan.
- Careful planning led by HRH Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein enabled the JOC to develop the sports scene in Jordan with both consistency and vision positioning Jordan as a key, medal winning participant in all the major sports events both regionally and internationally.
- Administrative efforts by the JOC were praised by the international sports community pinpointing Jordan as a healthy and worthy host for numerous Arab, Asian and international sporting events and championships such as the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2016.
- Recognizing Jordan’s efforts in reshaping and bettering the sports scene both regionally and internationally, HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2010 among other honorary positions.
- Given the role played and demonstration of the highest levels of commitment to sports betterment, Dr Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) named the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) in “the world’s Top 10%” Olympic Committees, cementing the Jordan Olympic Committee and its efforts as a role model raising standards in the sports world and a key player in the future of sports.
1. Purpose of the Position:
Liaising with the Marketing and Events Manager, the Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for executing all creative design, visual identity, and branding for Jordan Olympic Committee and all sub-entities, national federations, and any associated initiatives. This role is also responsible for supporting the creation of digital visual designs for the dissemination of communications, curriculum content, presentations, digital and social media, and other materials and platforms, to support engagement with JOC Delegates and Pioneers, donors, and partners. This includes the design of social media templates.
2. Responsibilities:
Liaising with the Marketing and Events Manager, the Graphic Designer will manage workload, prioritise and schedule to meet deadlines in the following areas:
- Interpreting creative design and digital engagement needs and clarifying, developing, and redefining briefs within resource and time constraints.
- Creating strong and innovative design concepts, sample layouts, and prototype solutions for review. Revising and finalising solutions based on feedback.
- Taking text content and concept ideas, identifying and editing suitable images to support the content and concept, and designing and producing visually compelling digital communications (including digital fact sheets, annual reports, newsletters, proposals, presentations, slideshows, artwork, images, illustrations, charts, graphs, infographics, animations, etc.)
- Supporting JOC’s visual brand including the development of brand guidelines and templates and monitoring branding across events, collateral, and in headquarters.
- Maintaining brand consistency among all JOC publications, products, and materials.
- Developing designs for JOC’s social media platforms.
- Developing designs for branded production items in support of events and programmes.
- Liaising and following up with the printing house on final design production, if needed.
- Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery.
- Elevate and constantly update Brand guidelines applications.
- Design original pieces, including illustrations and infographics.
- Review junior designers’ work (if available) to ensure a consistent high-quality outcome.
- Refine images, fonts, and layouts using Adobe Pro Suite.
- Apply typography techniques.
- Generate ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services.
- Increase user friendliness in digital products (Look and feel only).
- Maintain brand consistency throughout all marketing projects.
- Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools

4. Education, Qualifications, Competences, Skills Required:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Visual Arts, Digital Media, Visual Communication.
- At least five years’ professional experience in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Visual Arts, Digital Media.
- Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Proven experience and portfolio of creative design work and visual solutions.
- Excellent skills in graphic design software including (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.).
- Excellent technical skills, and artistic sensibility, knowledge of colour and composition, visual arts.
- Excellent active listening, problem solving, client management and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of brand development, marketing and sales principles and methods.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and understanding of different interpretations of colours, symbols, designs and concepts in different global, regional, and local contexts.
