ABOUT THE POSITION
Dexis is hiring a Latin America Senior Specialist to help develop new business with USAID and other donors, support Dexis’ strategic positioning, facilitating local partnerships and client relationships in Latin America, and assist in managing ongoing USAID funded programs. This is a position in the Dexis’ Governance Practice that reports to the Senior Director for Latin America, and will also collaborate with other practices, divisions, and departments within Dexis.
This position can be based remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development:
- Plays an active role in business development efforts to grow Dexis’ practice areas and adjacent practice areas by proactively seeking new opportunities, capitalizing on existing professional networks, managing capture and proposals, recruiting key personnel, identifying and engaging partners.
- Supports strategic growth efforts during capture by gathering information on clients, counterparts, and related projects, surveying the competitor landscape, identifying potential partners, and coordinating collection of local cost and operational information.
- Cultivates partnerships with critical stakeholders in the Latin America region including civil society, private sector, and government organizations.
- Manages relationships with partners under IDIQs held.
Program Management:
- Provides management and oversight of assigned projects in compliance with contract and donor regulations, to include client administrative reporting, operational procurement, consultant management, allowances, travel administration, financial monitoring, and maintenance of trackers and project files
- Travel overseas to project sites as needed.
- Supports Governance Practice strategies, in compliance with organizational policies, priorities, and procedures and donor regulations.
- As applicable, provides technical input on reports, proposals, and other documents; applies technical knowledge to solve problems, contributes to project decisions, and develops new business opportunities.
- Liaises closely with project staff, internal teams, and Dexis support units (e.g., HR, Payroll, Finance).
- In conjunction with project team and HR, oversees recruitment, hiring, monitoring, onboarding, and offboarding of project staff.
Learning and development
- Develops division and Dexis-wide process improvements, and other opportunities for learning and development; contributes to corporate knowledge management and cross-learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in public administration/policy, law, social science, management or another related field.
- At least eight (8) years of experience in the management and implementation of foreign assistance programs and/or technical work related to the Dexis’ practice areas and adjacent practice areas.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: local governance, public financial management, anti-corruption, rule of law, crime and violence prevention, economic growth, and/or livelihoods.
- At least five years of experience in or related to the Latin America region.
- Experience with USAID’s policies and procedures.
- Strong analytic and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and ability to work in challenging and difficult environments.
- Professional level fluency in Spanish is required.
- Experience supporting business development efforts with USAID strongly preferred.
