ABOUT OUR MISSION…
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI)is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in some twenty countries, the SI teams – 2500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
Solidarites International (SI) has been working in Syria since 2012. The mission counts about 230 national staff, more than 40 expatriates, and has a 25 million USD budget forecasted for 2021. There are 3 implementing offices in Syria (2 in North East Syria/NES, 1 in North West Syria/NWS) with the coordination based in Amman – Jordan.
The NWS intervention is targeting northern Aleppo countryside at Azaz, Al Bab and Jarablus (direct implementation) And Idlib through WASH, Shelter, NFI and Winterization support to displaced population and host communities. The main activities are:
Provision of Dignified Shelters to IDPS in Idlib and Aleppo
Provision of safe water: Water trucking, water pumping, water treatment and construction of water networks
Construction and maintenance of sanitation facilities and infrastructures rehabilitation
Waste removal services
Hygiene Promotion
Distribution of hygiene kits & top ups, kitchen kits, new arrivals Kits and emergency shelter kits and tents.
MPCA (multipurpose cash assistance)
Responding to the EQ in both Idlib and northern Aleppo.
The mission counts 1 field coordinator, 1 Deputy Field Coordinator, and 7 managers based in Amman (Admin Manager, Log Manager, WASH Project Manager, Shelter/ project Manager, Emergency Manager, Emergency shelter rehabilitation manager/ specialist and a Meal Manager) and a total of 79 national staff based in Suran and Idlib. There are also 1 staff based in Gaziantep: deputy logistic manager (also responsible for accountancy in Kilis and liaison with the Turkish authorities.
ABOUT THE JOB
General objective:
Be able to maintain those objectives from remote management.
Be able to emphasis a strong communication system and information sharing among the team in the field and at the coordination level.
Work closely with both program and support departments to clearly identify needs for operational support from the IM department. This includes developing an in-depth understanding of field operational constraints and challenges and being solution-driven.
Identify needs for data management systems across and support departments and proactively offer solutions
Support the technical development of sustainable data management systems for program and support departments and harmonize systems across the mission
Feed program and support departments with the program data they need and develop data visualization solutions that adequately support decision making
Responsibilities and main activities:
Strategic orientation & Coordination While SI is looking for a technical person, the selected candidate will have a strong appetite for coordination with both program and support departments.

Capitalization : Participate in the creation, centralization and dissemination of procedures, guides and tools linked to information systems

YOUR PROFILE
Specific skills and experience:
Strong representation and coordination skills
Practical knowledge of KOBO toolbox, including questionnaire design in MS Excel.
Excellent coordination skills, and enthusiasm for working with a multicultural team
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capacity, with a collaborative approach to work
Ability to travel for field visits (Gaziantep, Kilis, NWS)
Experience of working with or through partners
Ability to work under pressure

SI WILL OFFER YOU
A salaried post: According to experience, starting from 1980 euros gross per month (1800 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of 785 USD
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s country of origin and the place of assignment.
Vacation:During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with 850 USD allocated by Solidarités International). To these break periods, one additional rest day per month worked is granted.
Social and medical cover: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

Individual, comfortable room in the guesthouse, with electricity 24/7.

Restaurants and international food are available
Living conditions in Amman are very good with an easy access to a wide range of restaurants, cafes…
When traveling to Turkey the team is accommodated in hotel (usually in Killis, could also be in Antalya, Gaziantep or Ankara depending on the visit objective). Hotel offer comfortable living and working conditions.
Security risks are low, and restrictions are very limited.
However, when going on the field bases, living conditions are more basic, with fewer opportunities for socialization, as well as some individual movements’ restrictions. Security levels vary according to the different geographical locations and changes of context.
